Salam (May peace be upon you). I just wanted to add this discussion as a little preface to us discussing Islam. You can introduce yourself, and make Muslim friends! Wasalam.

Sammy (sammy5428) | 107 comments Mod
I'm great. Is everyone having a good Ramadan?

message 26: by Mariya (new)

Mariya | 6 comments Yeah I guess but here in Saudi there is no spirit of Ramadan so its just ok

message 27: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammy5428) | 107 comments Mod
No spirit of Ramadan? In Saudi? I find that a little hard to believe. Why is that?

message 28: by Mariya (new)

Mariya | 6 comments i know right? its suppose to be the opposite! well yeah its hard to believe but it is what it is. because ppl dont care enough to make Ramadan a big celebration everyone is just fasting thats it.

message 29: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammy5428) | 107 comments Mod
That's so weird. I don't like that. Most people would expect the total opposite. So everyone is just fasting cause they have to? Do they even say Ramadan Mubarak?

message 30: by Mariya (new)

Mariya | 6 comments Yeah i guess so... Yup they do.

message 39: by Ayeesha (new)

Ayeesha | 1 comments Asalama Alaikum. My name is Humaira. I was born Muslim and I'm still am one. I understand the concept since my family is a very strict one based on faith. But I'm lacking behind and I'm not really feeling it. I don't pray a lot, or read the Qur'an and its like I'm leading myself astray. Any ideas on what to do or help? Because I really want to become a better Muslim and have a better relationship with Allah (SWT)

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

walaikum salam, Ayeesha.
As long as u r contemplating about ur relationship with Allah(swt) it's alright! It means u r concerned about ur salah and ur fitrah telling u what ur doing is wrong.
Frankly speaking u are in a better position than many of the muslims in today's world! You see muslims all over the places and they don't even bat an eye when it comes to the commandments of Allah(SWT)!
My suggestion to u will be not to get depressed for not fulfilling ur duty, As Allah(SWT) said Himself, "La Tahzan" literally meaning "do not despair"! So just carry on ur good works and if u still missing prayers make tawbah and vow to urself that u aint gonna repeat that mistakes but if u do so then still carry on that path. And in order to find khushuu in salah u need to memorize some surahs and their translations in ur own mother tongue. there are numerous small chapters in quran like ikhlas, kawthar, nasr etc just memorise some of them and recite them in ur salah so that u can understand what u r reciting. that's it once u get the habit of it u'll never feel dejecting ur prayers.

PS: I would like to recommend u listening to the snippets or lectures of many honorable shaykhs around the globe. u can find them on youtube and also there are many online youtube channels offering dawah.
My recommendation will be: Shaykh Zahir Mahmood, Mufti Menk, Shaykh Hoblos, Shaykh Khalid Yasin, Hamza Tzortzis and youtube channels like
The Merciful servant, The Prophets path,Talk Islam etc
Listen to and watch their works spend times on these and inshaAllah u'll gain benefits.
bi-idnillah. :)

Chahrazed (Shahra_Blhen) | 1 comments I have nothing to add to what Leo said, except that you need to listen to Ruqyah :) It's a very powerful tool against Shaytan as Quran is THE cure to the sicknesses of the heart and all sickenesses. Allahul'mustâan :)
