a large lake with canoes to the side and it's fairly clean and nice to swim in. Only a little weedy.

Allix sat at the edge of the sparkling lake, her gaze locked on the crystal colored water. It was so clear and she had to resist the urge to simply start wading in it- for whatever reason, she was pretty sure bathing suits were more appreciated then swimming in jeans. The thought made her smirk. Her red hair fell to one side, curtaining over half of her face, as she looked over to the canoes. Her eyes lit up and she stood, stretching for a second, before walking toward the boats.
Allix's smirk softened into a genuine smile after she stopped beside the canoe. Rowing, or anything physical for that matter, was an escape from this utter hell. Humming quietly, she gathered her hair back into a high ponytail. She took off her Marc Jacobs sneakers and tossed them into the canoe. Allix pushed the boat a little farther into the water after pulling up her sweatpants and rolling the materials to her knees. Lightly climbing into the canoe, she focused on keeping it in balance. After so many times of getting into one of the boats, it became easier. She picked up the paddle and began rhythmically rowing, the wood cutting through the water. Her blue green eyes flickered up, catching sight of someone on the opposite side of the lake.
(Sorry for my epicly delayed reactions Dx) Allix's eyes followed the stranger, raising an eyebrow as she continued paddling. They were too far to really be distinguishable, but she could make out the outline. Damn it, I knew I should have gotten those glasses. Something about the person seemed. . . . vaguely different. She wanted to call out, make sure they were okay but. . . What the hell? It's not like I have much to lose. "Hey, are you okay?" Her voice shattered the silence, her eyebrows drawing together in concern.
Getting the sense that that hadn't exactly been what he'd wanted to say, Allix snorted. Alrighty then, remind me not to check on you again. Annoyance flickered and the canoe suddenly tipped dangerously to one side. Water splashed from the lake. "Damn it." The words were practically a growl as she grabbed the other side of the canoe, balancing it out with her weight. She blew her red bangs back away from her face.
"Just peachy." She flickered her bangs back even as the hair tie started sliding out from her ponytail. This was sucky: the way she couldn't monitor her emotions like her power was forcing her too. And then suddenly, -responding to all of her negative emotions- one side of the canoe tipped over completely. Her red hair disappeared under the canoe as it flipped. From in the water, she pushed the canoe right side up, breaking over the surface again. Dripping wet, of course. "And I liked those shoes too." Laughing, she grabbed the paddle and put it back in the canoe.
"Uhm," Her eyes flickered over to the canoe, looking between the guy and the boat. He seemed rather hesitant to get in the water and she wasn't much for asking for help. But how the crap am I gonna get the canoe back? Getting back in it didn't really seem like a practical option: with her emotions all over the place, it was most likely just gonna tip over again. Allix made a face, wrinkling her nose in a classic "Pug" look, as her brothers referred to it. "I think I got it. But thanks."
"Damn. Betrayed by the expressions again." Allix's wet hair flared blared behind her as she kicked closer to the canoe, looking a tad bit like flames dancing over the water. She grabbed the side of the wood and started tugging through the water beside her. "Really, you don't need to go through the trouble." A faint Irish accent tinged her voice, since most of her focus was on pulling the boat and pulling herself forward. I'll be damned if I'm the freaking damsel in distress. The thought was kinda frustrating in itself.
She pushed her wet bangs out of her eyes, before suddenly realizing her hair tie had fallen out. Gah. "Thanks for the help." She glanced over at him from over the top of the canoe, giving him a faint smile, before looking back toward the side of the lake. Until, of course, she heard the word 'werewolf.' Allix's eyes widened and she paused, bringing them both to a stop for a second. "Whoa. Really? Damn, remind me not to piss you off. You're the first Twilight-like person I've met at this camp." A grin pulled the corners of her lips upward. "Nice to meet you, Ben. I'm Allix." She paused and swallowed hard. How the hell do you tell someone you can move crap with the power of your mind? "Who's your counselor?" That seemed saver.
"Well. . . You're actually the first person I've met at this camp period but, you get the idea." The accent in her voice was peeking out a little more, since it wasn't something she was focused on keeping at bay. "Really? Probably. Yeah, I have him too. I wanted to go check out the room list to possibly catch a glimpse of my roommate. But the lake had other ideas." Allix grinned, and continued to pull the canoe toward the edge of the pond. She laughed. "Next time, I'mma stick to a bathing suit. Just in case. Again, thanks for helping me out."
Syrena ran and dove into the lake. She had just had a nightmare about when she was experimented on. Her legs turned immediately into a tail. Tears streamed down her face as she swam deeper. She was heading for the little cave of rocks under the water where she could curl up and hide
Eric walked along the lake slowly. He liked the lake, it was water and water was the opposite of fire. Of course, he never actually touched the water. He sat on a rock over by the lake and took out his sketchbook. He started sketching the lake.
Jullianna's face was pale as she sat on the ground, the sun beaming down at her. She shook violently with cold even though there wasn't actually any chill to begin with. she had been out in the sun for way to long but of course she really didn't understand that concept. Jules groaned and buried her face in her hands, her complexion sickly and off. She had a killer pounding headache and black spots continued to dance along her vision. Jules still didn't understand what she was, didn't know what her limitations were.
Syrena saw a boy and surfaced just her head and upper chest showing. Her long hair tumbled down her back. " Hello" she said in a silky voice. " Who are you?" she asked tilting her beautiful head to the side. She Swam a little closer but not much
Of course, Eric didn't hear Syrena, but he looked up to see the lake and saw the pretty girl in the water and another girl shivering over on the ground. He looke at the girl and shrugged, she was too far away for him to read her lips. He pointe to his ear and shook his head. He climbed down on the rock and walked over to the other girl. He tapped her on the shoulder.
Jullianna jumped for a moment and looked up before shaking her head. "Sorry if I'm in your way." she muttered while starting to stand up, instantly Jules nearly fell over as she swayed. "Oh God..." she whispered before falling to her hands and knees and trying not to black out. "I'll move." she muttered, obviously not acting like herself, the usual 'I'm going to do what I want' Jules that didn't take crap from anyone.
Syrena swam over to where Eric and the other girl was. She swam up to the edge. Her upper body was showing but she kept her tail in the water. It swished back and forth on the stones. " Is she all right?" she asked in that voice again. Syrena pointed to the girl lying in the ground. A concerned loom on her face.
Eric looked over at the girl and bit his lip. He saw the concern and he was pretty sure he knew what she was asking. He shook his head and looked back at the girl on the ground.
Syrena pulled herself out of the water. Her tail turned into a pair of long thin legs. She wasn't the best at walking do she sorted of stumbled over to the girl and fell beside her. " Are you okay she asked recognizing the girl as a siren.
Jules pushed herself up before stumbling away from the lake in a dizzy manner, minutes from passing out. Jules needed to get out of the sunlight. Her head pounded and she couldn't think of anything else except getting away
Syrena tried to follow but couldn't. Her legs were to wobbly. She was like an ungainly colt. She sat back down next to Eric. Her legs fded against her body. She frowned and looked at him. Her almost seemed to ripple in the sunlight.
Eric watched Syrena fall down beside him. He smiled at her shyly and reached down in the wet sand. He felt a current ripple through his arm when he touched the wet sand. He wrote, not used to legs? Like the Little Mermaid, no? he looked at her nervously, would she take that the wrong way? He hopped not... do you think she'll be okay?
Syrena laughed and wrote in the sand. " She'll be fine she was just in the sun to long. I'm not used to legs. What's your name? " I'm Syrena Riviera " she smiled and looked at him. She looked back at her legs and shook her head.
Eric nodded and watched her smile and shoulders shake, pretty sure she was laughing. So she is a siren too? he questioned and looked over at her. I'm Eric Platte, he replied and smiled charmingly at her.
" Yes. " she smiled. " It really is like the little mermaid except instead of Ariel not talking you aren't. And the funny thing is the Princes name is Eric" she wrote. She smiled again and blushed slightly. Syrena brushed some of her hair behind her ear.
Janelle wrote: ""Bathing suit would be good," Ben grinned taking note of her accent. He couldnt quite tell where it was from. He helped pull the canoe on shore. Amazingly, and gratefully enough, he had lost all ..."Allix laughed again, eyes sparkling. "Or so I've heard." She splashed onto shore with Ben, hair dripping down her back as she pulled the other side of the canoe up. The slightly baggy white shirt she'd been wearing -it had been one of her brother's- now stuck to her like a second skin. Thank God for camisoles. She glanced back over at Ben after setting down the boat, tossing the paddle inside. "Yeah, you too. I think I'm gonna go check out my 'dorm room.'" She rose an eyebrow. "So unless you wanna walk around with the soaking newbie who, most likely, will get lost. . . ." Flashing a smirk, she pulled out the sopping wet excuse for a map from her back pocket.
'And an evil witch stole my voice,' he thought. Technically, it was true. That's true! How funny is that? Maybe I'll have to start calling you Ariel? he looked up at her with eyebrows raised and a smile on his face. Just kidding, Eric added.
Syrena laughed again. If he had been able to hear her laugh was melodic and sounded a bit like bells. " Oh I wouldn't mind that name. I've been called worse" she wrote thinking about her childhood. To her parents she was experiment #0574 and their pet name for her was Little mutant she thought biterally.
Eric smiled warmly at her. He reached down in the sand and wrote, well, I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to call a pretty girl like yourself anything worse. He looke at her with a warm smile. Yes, he was flirting big time. Een though he couldn't hear her voice, she still had an alluring way to him.
" My parents never saw me as a daughter" she wrote. " I was experiment #0574, fish girl and little mutant, thank you though" she smiled. The funny thing was Syrena wasn't in siren mode. She wasn't trying to hypnotize anybody so she was really just Syrena the siren. She realized with a start that she was falling for Eric. But she didn't really mind.
Eric read that and his eyes flashed, that's messed up. If I knew them... he trailed off and looked at her. My mom calle me "the stupid, worthless, deaf boy." But you are very welcome, Ariel, he added the last word with a smile.
" I'm so sorry " she wrote. She smiled at the last word and gestures toward the water. " can you swim Prince Eric " she wrote with a little smile. a hadn't been paying attention to how long she'd been out of the water and her legs were starting to burn. That wasn't a good sign but she hadn't noticed.P
Eric shrugged, don't worry about it. It's fine, he smiled over at her. He shrugged, I've never tried. I'm a fire elemental and water and fire don't mix, he smiled sheepishly. I could try, if my Ariel wants me to, he said with a smile up at her. Maybe he was falling for this pretty siren...
" only if you want to try" she wrote. " I don't want you to get hurt. " a concerned look crossed her pretty face. " I can try to help you swim and maybe you can help me with walking" Syrenas face lit up and she smiled a big smile.
I'll try, but I'm just going to touch the water first. Not get in, Eric wrote. He did have memories about swimming, as they never really ended well. He looked over at her concerned look and smiled warmly. But I can help you walk, he replied, unable to keep a straight face at how happy she looked.
" Thank you Eric" she wrote smiling " I'll get in with you I need to anyway. I'm starting to burn and that's not good for sirens." she slid into the water her legs turning back into her tail. She swam out a bit and did a couple leaps out of the water before swimming back up to Eric. " Much better" she wrote laughing.
Eric smiled and watched her jump up and down in the water and smiled. You're welcome, Syrena. I still like Ariel better, though, he wrote with a charming smile. He took off his shoes and waded in, but jumped out quickly. I don't think I'm going in, though he wrote sheepishly. But I'm very good that it's better. You don't have to write in the sand if you don't want to. I can read lips, he looked at her with his head cocked, waiting for her reaction.
Syrena smiled. " Thank you for trying though. I like Ariel better too. But if you have trouble reading my lips at all I can wright in the sand " she blushed slightly and drug herself out of the water and regained her legs she tried to stand up but fell onto Eric. " Sorry " she said embarrassed. " Guess I haven't quite gained my landlegs " she joked
Eric grinned, you're welcome. I just wish I could go in the water. Not sure how I ended up a fire elemental. I always liked water better. Don't worry, I've been reading lips for years. As long as you aren't one of those weird people who talks without their lips, which you aren't, you're good, he shrugged. He blinked, quite surprised when she fell. He smiled at her very warmly and signed, "no worries." Then wrote in the sand, no worries. Like hakuna matata. Can you tell I'm a Disney movie junky yet? He chuckled, both at his Disney movie junky comment and at her landlegs.
(( I understand it ))Syrena laughed. " Don't worry I love Disney movies too. My favorites are the little mermaid, Aristocats, Hercules, and Mulan. Classics all the way " she laughed again and tried to stand up straight but failed miserably, she plopped down on the sand giggling. She wiggled her toes. " Now all I need is Sebastian to tell me off and scuttle to start yelling"
Eric smiled and wrote, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I love Lion King and Mulan. He wondered if he sounded like a loser to her at all... He watched her stad and fall and smiled and wrote, I know you'll be able to do it. Have you spent a lot of time in the water? he asked. He actually laughed at her Sebastian comment, unda the seeeeea.
Hazel walks to the lake, because no one from the cabin showed up yet. She sees some campers sitting by the lake. She walks up to them. "Hi" she says.
Eric turned when he felt someone else coming over. He smiled and waved kindly at her. He cocked his head as she left again. 'Okay,' he thought. He glanced at Syrena curiously. Did she say hi? Did I completely ignore her?
Hazel then remembered she didn't know where else to go, so she walked back and sat next to the kids, hoping they would see her. "Hi" she said again. But when she tried to say Hi, a roar came out. That only happened so often, a side effect from her power. She cleared her that and tried again. "Hi" she said, less animal-ish.
Eric turned again, he wished he had some sort of hearing. The same girl was there. He smiled again and waved. Hopefully, she would talk and he could...write hi or something.
The boy waved. He must not be able to to talk. Or hear, probably hear. Hazel looked at him and waved. Sh wrote in the sand, Hi, I'm Hazel.
Eric smiled when she wrote in the sand. Is it that obvious? he asked and shook his head. He looke up and smiled, "H-a-z-e-l," he finger spelled and smiled at her. Hi, I'm Eric. It's nice to meet you, Hazel, he wrote back.
