Hello everyone! The idea of this is to create a list of the Best of the best Sri Lankan reads for us to read and to recognize.

This will not be a voting, but simply we tell one another the favourites. Let's see who will get short listed. Please link the book and (if you can, also the book cover)

Somewhat reminiscent of James Michener’s epic multi-generational historical fiction. Unlike Michener, however, this book is set in a narrower period of Sri Lanka’s history. It appears to have been unconventionally published, so it did not arrive on the scene with the usual big-publisher fanfare. Having said, word is getting round. There’s an interesting 2-minute You Tube clip which summarises what a book festival curator thought about it http://youtu.be/kXLn1KNt-Es . Loved the book…
