Jeremy Loo (BohemianInkslinger) | 34 comments This House Believes That A Group of Countries Should Unilaterally Invade Syria With or Without the Consent of the United Nations and its Security Council.

I understand that this is a 'heavy' subject and is totally unrelated to books. However, I think that every now and then, bookworms like me should get our noses out of books and start finding out what's going on in the world.

Without further ado, anyone partaking in this debate should define several things:
1) What their stance is. (Agree or not)
2) If you agree, which countries/group of countries should make the decision to do so.

Please respect everyone's views, and don't start any fights! :)

Katie (katiebakes641) | 75 comments 1) I believe that we should help the rebels, but I don't know about a unilateral invasion. I heard that Obama signed an executive order for the military in that area to intervene, but that it would be mostly "clandestine" operations.
2)Great Britain is usually our ally in these things. It could be like Libya, where France was involved as well. That probably won't happen this time, however, because Russia and China don't want to intervene.

Other than that, I don't think Assad's regime will last very long. The conflict could drag on, but the economic sanctions are really taking their toll. It all depends on whether other countries pitch in.
