Holly | 20 comments I loved The Woman in White and I can't wait to read The Moonstone. I think he was a very underrated author.

Martha (marthas48) He's my favorite so far. I loved The Woman in White and The Moonstone, but No Name is my favorite of his that I've read. Another great, but lesser known, is The Dead Secret. Excellent mystery! Am reading The Haunted Hotel next ... hopefully, this summer.

Have you read The Haunted Hotel yet, Martha? I've just finished it and would love to hear what you thought of it!

Pip I would also recommend Armadale - it's a huge great twisty story with some extremely memorable characters.

Martha (marthas48) I haven't read it yet, Pip. I hope to soon though. I just retired and am reading quite a lot now. Will start it this month.

Gigi (gigidy) ATTENTION ALL WILKIE COLLINS FANS:
I have a question. Collins wrote a few collaborative works with Charles Dickens. Since Dickens has such a strong following I find that often these works are available with all the chapters written by Collins... REMOVED!
Currently I am trying to hunt down e-book versions of those missing chapters so that I might read the works in their entirety- the way they were meant to be read.
Does anyone know the book The Wreck of the Golden Mary? Collings wrote two chapters entitled "John Steadiman's Account" and "The Deliverance" but, I do not know WHERE these chapters belong within the story. Does anyone know?
Thanks

No clue but good luck! Very interesting and sad they would remove the chapters/ Collins parts.

Thanks Jamie. Just seems almost 'sacrilegious' to simply delete entire chapters out of a book, doesn't it?

Very!

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) | 44 comments I've never heard of any publisher excising Collins in favour of Dickens in any book. This is an outrage.

Report the matter to the Goodreads librarian's group? They will send out the appropriate death-squad!

Emiliy200 I really love Collins's books, his books full with soul, big soul and when we reads them we can see Collins's talent immediately. In first sentences.
