Scott Sweeney I am very excited to announce the release of my next novel I WAS NEVER AFRAID. . This suspense/thriller has a bit of a twist. A mysterious character in the fiction portion of the book is revealed in a post book biography. ~ I was inspired to create this character from an amazing person that was born in Marion, Indiana. Her heroic feet back in 1967 propeller her into the record books, brought her tickertape parades and newspaper articles across the country. Sadly over time her accomplishment seemed to have faded and been forgotten. I hope this book will change that!

Have a great day,

Scott Baker Sweeney

Scott Sweeney ~ My next novel/biography” entitled I was Never Afraid, was inspired by cycling legend and Denver native Rebecca Wilson. Becky was the first women to ride 7300 miles from coast to coast back in 1967, a year later she was struck and killed only 10 blocks from her Denver apartment.
She was also the first female to belong to the Denver Cycling Club.

Thank you,
Scott

Scott Sweeney LOVING MEMORIES ~ SBS
Christmas is the time when our soul floods our mind with warm memories of a childhood left far behind.
It’s a kind word, a smile, a familiar song, that unleashes the reminisces of familiar bygones.
What a precious gift, is our memoirs of past, that our hearts store away to be opened at last.
Church bells ringing, the prayers in unison, the warm squeeze of mother’s hand, the taking of communion.
Memories are a blessing, a gift from God, they are constantly being made and stored away to keep.
So be mindful this Christmas, to create warm memories for your little ones.
For someday God will choose for them a childhood memory, a precious gift of love, with a little help from you.

Scott Sweeney For all my buccaneer fans!
A pirate of the sea I might be.
But a friendly sail passing, I will leave be.
A pen I carry instead of a sword, for a cutlass slice is fleeting, while a sharp word renders perpetual meaning.
I might borrow ye thoughts, but I’ll never steal your words.
I take no more than Poseidon can provide and weather the storms as best I can, always relentless for finishing me voyage.
So, give way fare going stranger, pass by my bow with care, for a swashbuckling scribe ye need not fear, unless ye unwearyingly provoke.

TURNER! FILLED WITH ADVENTURE! ByIndianamamaon
I am a choosy reader and was not sure what to expect when I received my copy. With lots of unexpected twists and turns, this book made me laugh and cry, and went way beyond just holding my interest! I kept turning the pages just to see what was coming next. The ending seemed very suitable to the mysterious and adventurous soul of my favorite character Kat! The cover alone, kept me picking up the book to continue reading. I appreciated how the meaning of the illustration was only revealed by reading the entire book! LOVE IT!

Scott Sweeney Professional Profile
Scott Baker Sweeney, Author
By Marsha Shilts
Scott Baker Sweeney has created worlds where small boats share a dangerous journey, where there is a race between good and evil powers to recover a precious artifact, where a young man from rural Pennsylvania finds himself through friendship and football and where aircraft share heroic missions in the Vietnam War. Scott is a successful author who has created these worlds through his children’s and adult books.
Becoming a writer is in Scott Baker Sweeney’s blood. His grandfather was a poet and his mother wrote during her college years, so it was no surprise to the Sweeney family that Scott would become a successful author who has published four books. Scott was encouraged by his mother and grandfather to write as a child while growing up in northwestern Hendricks County.
Scott grew up in North Salem, and at one time lived and worked at his grandparents’ campground in North Salem. After graduating from high school, he worked on a farm and even male modeled for a short time. He was featured in Indianapolis Monthly. Scott went to work for Gradex Inc in 1985. Today, in addition to being a successful author, Scott is the Vice President/Secretary of Gradex Inc., an excavation and site development company in the Indianapolis area. His company did much of the site development for the Indianapolis Airport among other large projects. Scott served on the Indiana Construction Association Board of Directors for four years.
But the desire to write fiction never left Scott. A few years ago, he decided to write a book. Working nights and weekends, Scott completed his first book, Beyond the Reef. Beyond the Reef is a children’s book that was published in 2007. Beyond the Reef tells the story of Roy the rowboat, Karen the canoe and Sally the sailboat. The three young boats spend their days frolicking in the sunny warm waters of their home cove. However, they want to know what happened to Roy’s parents, and that quest leads them into possible danger, beyond the reef.
While learning how to publish Beyond the Reef, Scott completed his second book, The Tears of Mary, a novel, and published this book in 2007. The Tears of Mary is a thriller that begins on an Indiana farm, travels to Notre Dame University, and then on to Ireland and Europe to discover the secret of the ancient treasure of the “Tears of Mary.”
Scott’s third book, Cheat River Three, is another novel based loosely on the life of Scott’s father Eugene. Eugene grew up in rural Pennsylvania, played football for Bear Bryant and also professionally for the Rams, and had many interesting and very humorous adventures. Cheat River Three was published in 2012.
Scott’s fourth book, Heroes of the Sky, is a children’s book, and was published for the H. Weir Cook Foundation to benefit veterans. Heroes of the Sky is the story of Huey, Tooie and Sioux, who are aircraft serving and having adventures during the Vietnam War. Heroes of the Sky was published by the Indiana
Air Museum and can be ordered through the Weir Cook Memorial Project. Scott is currently writing his fifth book, I Was Never Afraid, and expects to publish that book this spring.
Scott lives in Royal Troon Village with his wife Kim and son Austin. The Sweeneys also share their home with Jack, a four-year old Silver Lab. Scott has four children. Ashley is married and lives in Avon. She has two children, Chloe and Paige. Ashley is a registered nurse and works at Eskenazi Hospital. Tommy lives in Cincinnati. Tommy is a hotel manager. Brock lives in Southport and works for Jett Express. Austin is a junior at Avon High School. He is on the track and pole vaulting team and is a national champion in martial arts.
When he’s not working, writing or spending time with his family, Scott is a sailor. He is a member of the Eagle Creek Sailing Club, and has sailed for more than 20 years. He currently owns a 26 foot Capri. Scott has sailed in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. When his children were small, Scott used to coach their football and baseball teams.
Scott thoroughly enjoys his life as a writer. He has met a lot of wonderful people and signed books in five states. He was a recent guest of Governor Pence and accompanied him on bus tours as an Indiana author. Scott says that it is very exciting when he is at a book signing, and his books sell out. Scott’s next literary adventure is seeing one of his books on film. Although he hasn’t received a commitment yet, Scott has had interesting conversations with different film companies. Scott is also considering publishing one or more of his books as an audio book.
You can order Scott’s books through Amazon.com purchase one through any major book seller or catch Scott at one of his book signings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kept My Full Attention, December 26, 2013
By Gai Leigh Clemmer - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Cheat River Three (Kindle Edition)
My New Years resolution was to read two books from start to finish since I am not a reader! Cheat River Three was on the Kindle my sister lent me to read, so I decided to read it. I couldn't put the book down! Being from Point Marion and raised there through the 70's & 80's, I found the book to be real fascinating and almost true to life! The band of friends in this book can remind anyone of their own band of friends when they were kids! All three had their own agenda but true to each other! This book does a fantastic job of portraying what a small town is all about, particularly in the early years! Their careers led them apart, but their love for each other kept them together! The ending is nothing I expected, but was fabulous none the less. I loved it so much that I am looking for other books written by Scott Baker Sweeney!

Scott Sweeney Hey fellow authors,
I can’t imagine the long worrisome hours that are spent by a parent at the hospital day after day, while accompanying their sick child. I always give monetarily to St. Jude’s, but I started a couple of years ago donating books to their library as well. Making them available to the moms and dads, in the hopes of adding some relief, for at least a short period of time by getting them lost in a novel.
If any of you would like to send them one of your books too, below is their address.

Dear Mr. Baker Sweeney,

Thank you so much for supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We truly appreciate your willingness to help the children of St. Jude. You may send the additional copies of the book to the following address:

If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact Donor Services at 1-800-822-6344 Mon-Fri 7 am to 11 pm CT. Thank you again for thinking of the children of St. Jude.
