Heat is about a boy named Michael and his friend Manny who love baseball. Micheal and Manny both joined the Bronx All Star baseball team. They play a team but the coach on the other team wants to see Micheals birth certificate because Micheal is throwing 80+ mph at the age of 12. Micheal could not prove he was 12 because he has no mother or father. Micheal was worried that Manny was going to tell someone that he was living with his 17 year old brother.
I believe this is one of the best baseball books. This book is for 12 year olds and on because Micheal Manny is 12 years old. I believe this book is very good because it shows the willpower of Micheal powering through when everyone thinks he is older than he is he doesn’t give up. I believe this book will interest baseball players and fans and maybe even people that dont like baseball at all. The theme of the book was never let yourself get down when things are bad and able to become the same person you were before bad things happen Spoilers ahead Micheal later in the book gets adopted by his favorite baseball player El Grande. Micheal was able to play baseball again thanks to El grande because he has a confirmed birth certificate. Micheal and Manny's team, the Clippers, make the playoffs and win so they go to the championship. They went to the championship and played at the Yankee stadium....more
