I was only a little way through this book when I had to stop to do some background research.

I'm familiar with the Anishinabwe, living in the Great Lakes area, but only in a Canadian context. I've never heard of the Potawatomi Nation and wanted to understand why.

For one, its traditional lands are south of Lake Michigan. For another, the Trail of Tears.

Listening to this for the Pagebound Seasonal Readalong badge 😅 It's not something I'd usually read.
