Sartre’s preface is my favorite writing of his I’ve read.

So far, Homi K. Bhabha's foreword provides an interesting meditation on the use of Fanon as a theorist in a globalizing world while also offering some table setting and historical context to make sense of the "psycho affective realm" in particular. The prose feels a bit affected but not unbearably so. I'm intrigued and glad to (finally) have pulled this off the shelf.

Onto the third part/epilogue!

Wow I exercised, did laundry, and read for leisure today... Is this what the kids are calling radical self care?

Kinda forgot that prose can fly off the page and make me forget hours of my day have passed. This is a really lovely and interesting read so far.

New year, same me whose last complete read for myself was Toni Morrison. Hoping this will spark something in me.

Whoa I might actually finish a book in the year of our lord 2020.

I have wanted to return to Dillard’s work since I came across an excerpt from An American Childhood. This collection is a good cross-section of her new and old works, and thus far I’m really intrigued.
