So this is basically a rewrite or an alternate story of his other book published in 1985 called Hard boiled wonderland and the End of the world. I seriously love the older version so I did not see the point in writing this book. I think it even ruined it for me- now that fictitious world is not associated with that other book but also this new one which at times felt was written by a Murakami impersonator or Chatgpt.
