So far my opinion on this book is about the same as on Kpop Demon Hunters... Great, enjoyable, vibey...but could definitely be better.
And it has nothing to do with Apollo (his pov is really fun, leave him alone he's corruption arc-ing) and everything to do with Jacks, who I wish had no pov at all because it's nothing like his chapter in TBONA and 1.3 cm away from ruining him rn and I'd rather not 😃😃

This is a strong, selfless, objective, reasonable leader (ExTJ?) paired with a woman who is so stubborn and unwilling to see the truth when she doesn't like it that she will deliberately ignore proven facts and even things she sees herself right in front of her multiple times. She doesn't deserve him and I am gonna throw something.

I love Ruvan his Je is so amazing and refreshing. I feel really bad for him to be stuck with a bunch of people who don't appreciate it.
Floriane can go fall off a staircase she's so stubbornly stupid right now it's unbearable. I REALLY hope she gets herself together and apologizes soon. Although I'll keep my hopes low considering current romantasy trends...

What the hell is that Kal/Auri thing?? They've like BARELY interacted, I don't think she even has an opinion on him ... It feels so forced help. Listen I know Kat likes Tyler and I don't dislike the two of them together (her crush on him is actually pretty cute) but I don't *feel* them that much. Meanwhile, Auri/Tyler have such a wholesome, strong bond; I was expecting them to get together and then that happened...

Welp this book is still amazing; the worldbuilding and the writing are incredible, I care about the characters (I sincerely hope especially Scarlett gets a character arc that involves her becoming less shallow though) ... and this book still has WAY TOO MANY POVs !!
Seriously who needs 7 whole POVs especially if the characters are all together anyway T-T

Look Ik her suspicion is believable but it's so painfully obvious he isn't lying that it drives me up a wall. I really hope she realizes that "not everything I've been taught about vampires is true" also applies to the bad things soon...

Like really good so far. I kinda expected it but still...

My only complaint is that there seem to be WAY too many POVs ... at least the audiobook has different narrators. I'm not sure if all of those are needed. Personally, I'd stick with Auri and Tyler; they're by far the most interesting so far. I really love Tyler in general; it's been a while since a character won me over that quickly.

I have never DNFd an ARC before but I want to. I want to DNF this so badly. I would have long ago if this weren't an ARC.

Ugh this is so bad... The characters are so bland and the writing is so cringe it's actually bothering me. All this is is the almost typical soulless, violent, vicious booktok "enemies to lovers" enemies part which some apparently find hot. Just emotionally immature ppl going at it. Eugh.

Also forcing her to wear that outfit despite her discomfort was unnecessary.

Yeah this is really not good. The whole premise annoys me bc the MC genuinely didn't do anything wrong. She has no agency and no real choices, and she also has no internal conflicts or motivation besides... wanting to get laid?
This book is so "men are only useful for eye candy" coded and I am icked out.
Also, why did we as readers need to know about "work mentality changes after the pandemic" so desperately??

Wow that... was genuinely the cringiest, most in your face "feminist" for absolutely no reason first chapter I have EVER read. If this weren't an ARC, I might have already dnfd.
Literally the only thing I know about the MC so far is that she is so unapologetically a feminist (!!) who likes sex with men she isn't afraid to objectify. Fantastic.

Okay I am enjoying the book greatly again. This change of setting and scenery was unexpected but EXACTLY what was needed and I genuinely have no idea where it'll go from here.

I love the way information is sprinkled out in this book. It isn't too on the nose, but allows theorizing. Who is the king? Is he Seren's 4th brother or something? Whose soul did he eat? I am intrigued... and needing a reconciliation asap.

I guessed the thing with his mom still being around pretty much from the very beginning but that's okay. Wondering if they can actually save her or not though.

The only thing that annoys me a little is the ongoing power imbalance. I'm here waiting for something to happen that evens it out more since pretty much the moment they met....

Seren is such a floof I love her. Her chapters are my favorite, I'm curious to see if the style will slowly shift and liven.

THIS is instant attraction done right. It makes so much sense and the way it's written whimsically like a fairytale is so incredible. And the starcrossed vibes are already killing me.

When this inevitably takes a turn for the tragic I will cry.

I love the writing style and I love the MC, he's giving Ti-Se which is awesome. My interest is piqued.

I'm actually kind of excited to continue this.

Venya literally has NO reason to resists him or dislike him. None at all. It feels so contrived I want to scream. Also, as expected tbh, Kassimir is now way too pathetic to be anything close to attractive. Stopppp.....
