Marin Ireland narrated the audiobook. That’s the reason I picked it. I like her voice. She did all the beartown books and that one about the octopus. It’s as good a reason as any! The story is about “a clinic where they put you to sleep for a month and then hopefully your broken heart is all patched up in the end.” That’s a direct quote from a character that obviously doesn’t buy into the concept.

It’s clearly meant for YA, but I’m enjoying it!

Once again, I thought I had more of Saturday to listen, but the library took it back. It’s a weird book to read during a major life transition, but maybe that’s what makes me love it so much. Give me the book where I took the job in Hamburg and had to learn a new language and figure it all out again.

I started reading these books because a very sweet daughter of a colleague recommended them because one of the characters has my family name, and then she wanted to talk with me about them at lunch. I don’t love them. I’m not into all the fairy stuff, and the female leads are meant to be strong, but come off as obnoxious. I know so so so many women love this series, but it isn’t for me.

The story is good- but soooo drawn out. I wish there was a concise version…

Ok, if you can’t get past the infidelity trigger at the beginning of the book, it’s pretty good. My sister has been recommending this book for a while.

It’s really good, but I got it on Audible before I discontinued my membership, and Libby stresses me out with their due dates and time lines so I haven’t been back to it. 😔shame.

Dude. I had 20 mins left in this sucker, and Libby took it back and now I gotta wait like 6 weeks or something ridiculous and I won’t even remember the characters names by then!! They should give you an actual time deadline and not just vaguely say tomorrow… ughhh I miss late fees. I’d pay 68 cents to finish that book.

Libby said I was taking too long and took it back, so I had to wait for it again.

I listened to a bunch of this, then it accidentally got returned, and then I listened to it and fell asleep and I want to go back and listen to it from the beginning, but all the parts where I woke up were well done.

This is a crap review and I apologize to my tiny audience.

I’m big on voices because I’m busy/lazy, and mostly listen to books while walking or driving. Her voice isn’t my favorite, although the accent is a bit redeeming.

I picture the backyard in my parents’ house where I grew up, even if her descriptions paint a more wild and untamed backdrop… its a mix of poetry and prose about looking out on your yard through the year. It’s a good zone out from real life.

The story of two frenemies that are truly friends except when they’re not continues. I like this book way better than the last one, but her friend is in such a rough spot and is clearly mentally unbalanced, poor thing!
