I love stories about revenge and grief. I’m not sure why I think there’s something oddly satisfying. Though sadistic. I believe that this is very much like “The Female of the Species” and recommend that if you loved this.

I really hate when in fantasy male and female are used it just feels so weird and forced.

I feel like these books are barely connected to eachother at this point like same characters but I can’t tell how much time has passed between the two.

This feels like a tv drama and I don’t entirely like those, and honestly I’d dnf at this point if I wasn’t reading it for bookclub. I just don’t like the writing style.

I love that this book teaches you previous and current terms that have now turned into insults, for instance Bitch and Cunt. It explains why most insults have something to do with women including calling a man sissy, while the word previously was a shorthand for sister. It also goes into Woman Doctor instead of just calling a woman who is a doctor a doctor. As well as how madam turned into a woman running a brothel.
