I just had a damn epiphany! Do you know what the premise of this book reminds me of?

People keep saying the Cruel Prince x Ninth House, but I dnf'd the Cruel Prince, and I haven't read the other book.

3 clues: My sister has been kidnapped/murdered. I'll do whatever it takes to find out who did it. I have to deal with this guy who just happened to be sexy AF.

-_- The Kingdom of the Wicked series. I should DNF...

This FMC (Kidan) confuses me.

She only wants to live to save her sister, but afterward, she plans to die by taking the draniacs (vampires) down with her? 😑

So you basically plan to leave your sister on her own again by killing yourself or getting yourself killed? That makes perfect sense. 😕

That whole plan is ruining this for me.

I can't stand the nicknames in this book, but I'm interested in the weirdness. Definitely getting JDATE vibes. If you know the series, then you know what I'm talking about👌🏾

Books like these are good palate cleansers.

Once you get past Kidane's impulse to save people who never asked to be saved and her constant reminder that she's going to die soon, you become more interested in the overall plot just to find out what's really going on between all these houses.

Who's a foe?

And who's really ally?

Sometimes you just need to read something weird...

This girl (Kidan) is a bit morbid. She keeps reminding us that as soon as she is done with whatever mission she's on, she's going to have to die right after.

We get it. She's alone & depressed.

Since book #2 comes out next month, let's see if I enjoy book #1.

I'm sensing a DNF soon.

I expected something thrilling & suspenseful. All I'm getting is a walk around Japan sightseeing & looking for hookers.

Oh & this layout is awful. Chapter 1 was 62 pages. There's only 3 chapters in this 217-page book. I'm feeling unmotivated. -__-

*sigh*... this is dragging for me. We're not even at the major parts yet 200 pages in...
