Lauren Roberts really did just blatantly plagiarize this book 😭💔

The author will explain the same simple idea in 4 different ways with 4 paragraphs back to back but will gloss over every exciting action scene our protagonist, a soldier mind you, involves herself in. I feel like this was written for someone with zero attention span or analytical thinking.

Spells out every single detail - wish there was more mystery or intrigue. If this wasn’t a romance, the inner monologue (and dialogue) would have already sent me packing

Have to admire Jane for keeping to her principals in front of a man, whom she dearly loves, melting to the floor at her feet and pleading with her as if his life were to dissipate on her departure. Boss bitch shit.

Brontë has a way of enthralling me with her writing style - I never want to reemerge from her pages. If I finished this in a month, it would be too soon.

Dorian watching his depraved soul reflect onto his portrait is peak writing. The harder his conviction in following a dark path (Lord Harry), the more putrid his portrait becomes. I love it.

Side note on the "Uncensored" version: the fact that Wilde's publisher had to strip this book of all it's gayness is a crime against humanity. Love me some unrequited yearning
