I've dicided to continue reading based on the growth I've seen in ch14, but I'm not sure yet if I'll be keeping this one on my shelves once I finish.

Up until chapter 14 these MCs were truly toe-ing the line between unlikeable with growth potential to insufferable - so much so I almost DNFd. I love the work Alex does in her Florida community (supporting Queer, Elderly, and other marginalized groupw), but that isn't prioritized enough in the plot for me to have kept reading if she and Devin didn't improve.

I'm having mixed feelings so far. We'll see how the rest plays out tomorrow, but it's looking like a 3-star so far. I want to love the characters and I want to feel the tension of the plot, but the characters are so unlikeable (they also feel like totally different people in class vs out) and I just don't feel the stakes even though they should be pretty high. IDK :/
