I am exactly half way through this book and it's still terrible. Do I just eke it out until the end now? Does it get any better? The deities remain the only interesting aspect of it 🙄

This book is really bad. Have I given it enough of a go yet to call it a DNF? The only remotely interesting idea is that the deities walk among them like in Greek mythology.

I mean, I've only just started it, but the writing / pacing /character work is quite dire at the moment. I hope it finds its way because I've heard good things!

I think I've read this book before, about 7 different times...

I have read this book so many times before. When it was called Shadow and Bone, then when it was called The Red Queen; more recently it was called Powerless... There is nothing unique about it at the moment. I know Renly is going to turn out to be the 'Earth Cleaver,' I know Haldyn is not going to be the main love interest - I'm already waiting for the MMC archetype to show up...

I mean, this is A LOT better than I thought it was going to be - really well written. But I've already worked out who's responsible for the Fall, and it ain't Kadra - I'll tell you that for nothing. So, maintaining all this 'he's the murderer' charade feels a bit futile at this point.
