Yes, these last two books are pretty dark & full of simmering hate & revenge (not that the first three didn’t also have some pretty dark & heavy parts/themes, mind you), but boy do I love the angst & heartfelt repentance & found family & redemption arcs of deeply flawed characters who work hard in the end to rebuild and forgive and love rather than be consumed by hate!

Loving the intrigue so far! Struggling to recall a few vaguely familiar characters, but that’s pretty typical for me, haha. Really cool to see Bryn (the name of a childhood friend of mine🥰) trying to carve out her place in a new setting!

Loving this straightforward/simplified review of these stories before jumping into reading my second translation this year of the unabridged works! I sometimes find it a bit hard to keep up with all the different characters and their sometimes confusing motivations & dramas, so this is helping me familiarize a bit more before continuing. :)
