Oh, I’m in from the first page

I started this book around Christmas and found it so beautiful I almost couldn’t bring myself to pick it back up because I kept feeling like it needed to be the right time & place?? Does that make sense?? But I’ve just started it again and I still have that urge to race through it and read it in one sitting fighting the desire to savor it. Either way, I already know it’ll be getting a rave review at the end

I hate this book and I don’t want to read it anymore and I also want to stay up all night to finish it right now

I want a Bonnie and Clyde situation but I feel like we’re gonna get a really bad mean I hate Ryan now twist situation and I’m scared

the romance subplot of this is atrocious. I understand the necessity of Marie as a character device but every scene with the two of them I’m like 🙄🤢 the falling in love instantly??? come on. if she continues through the rest of the books……….

this is new territory for me and I DO feel like a pick me girl reading it on the tube but also I’m kinda vibing with it

I’m gonna keep reading bc I want to know what happens but there are some bits where the writing/lack of editing is making me roll my eyes. For example, I’m desperate to know if President Rosenfelt is a historical person I know nothing about or if my context clues are correct and somehow multiple editors missed that the author misspelled President Roosevelt…….

Read the first 58% in one sitting. Feels kinda like if pretty little liars took place in a village in England and then one of their granddaughters had to solve the whole thing in a knives out style inheritance-based game??? Aka the ideal set-up for a novel imo

At the risk of stating the painfully obvious, this book has seriously helped me realize Jesus is so smart!! The Pharisees were so tricky!! Context is SO helpful!! And NT Wright is an absolute legend

I’m only a little bit in but this is the first nonfiction book I’ve read maybe ever that I can hardly put down. It’s so interesting and written in such an engaging way. If the rest of the book is anything like this first few chapters, it’s going to go on my list of favorite/most life-changing books

This is my fourth time picking this up but I think this is the time I actually read it

I think I’m gonna call it quits on this one. I really liked her other books but this one is boring me and I don’t think it’s worth my time. If someone else tries it and loves it, let me know but I think I’m tapping out for now

absolutely and utterly enchanting. You know the scene in Harry Potter in which he’s sucked into the memories held in the pensieve? That’s what opening this book feels like

I already know this is going to be 5 stars.

Torn between wanting to tear through the rest and knowing that when it ends I’m going to be sorely disappointed and have to spend an absurd amount of time reading all the archives of the author’s travel blog
