‘Maybe I don’t fit anywhere. Maybe I’m not supposed to.
Maybe my best bet is a ghost with a guilt complex.’

‘“Your hair,” he says faintly. “What’s been done to it?”
I snort. He sounds winded. Devastated. “I straightened it.”

‘“You can’t buy my forgiveness with overpriced holiday drinks.”
That’s a lie. My forgiveness can absolutely be bought with overpriced holiday drinks, especially if he remembered to get whipped cream on top.’
