Completely obsessed with Eric G Dove as the narrator and trying very hard not to binge my way through this series.

I’m doing this as part of a reading challenge. Haven’t read a comic book in forever and it’s super cute. I’m not thinking too hard with this one.

I thought Tamsyn was cute, but then I discovered she has an ulterior motive and even though she’s cute and sweet and this could turn around, I don’t like this kind of trickery and subterfuge stuff in my romances, so this is a pass for me.

The first half of this book was a struggle, the second half redeemed it. That said, omg, why was it so boring? And why was everyone so flat and lacking in personality?

I struggled to get through this one. I know Jessa Kane likes to push boundaries, but hoo boy, this one was straight up too strange for me. Even stranger than Property of Pops which I actually really enjoyed.

This story reads like a formulaic, generic cliche that is not holding my attention. The writing is nothing special and the story felt like something I’ve read many times before. I read some reviews which said Jet the dog is awesome and I love animal stories, but I don’t think I’ve got it in me to keep going just to get to the good doggy bits.

Book club read.

I pretty much live for Alex Parker showing up in these books and listening to Eric G Dove narrate him.

This book should never have been published. Certainly not in its current state. What a disgrace. I give up.

I give up. This author needs to learn to write a good book. I regret not checking reviews. Big regrets. More fool me.

Aside from the level of disgusting, the writing was terrible. Don’t authors care about good writing anymore? Or are they just out there thinking writing and making money is easy so they throw together a trashy book and call it a day. I’m not even sorry about giving this book a low rating. It made me rage.

Well, at least Rafael seems to have some morals. But was it really necessary to open the story and book with so much disgustingness? Is it for shock value and titillation because people have become so desensitised?

Holy heck, who needs enemies when one’s own parents are that disgusting?

Even if I finish this book, it’s still getting one star unless Rafael redeems the whole freaking book because so far every character in the book is disgusting. There’s mafia romance and then there’s this shite. I deeply deeply regret not checking reviews before diving in thinking I could trust the person who recced the book. More fool me.

Well, that’s utterly disgusting. Even for mafia romance thats supposedly dark that’s just horrendous.

It appears that I’ve completely lost interest in this book.

I should have known better than to get sucked into the rave recs on social media for this book. I couldn’t get past the writing. It was not for me. Too bad too, cos it could have been interesting if some of the word choices weren’t so bizarre that I got thrown out of the story every couple of paragraphs.

It’s like a switch got flipped. Now he’s super observant and can tell immediately that something is making her uncomfortable. It’s very jarring.

Mike is a stupid idiot. But at least he’s no longer hateful.

None of this makes sense. Now he suddenly likes her just because he’s found out she’s autistic? Why are these characters so shallow and such terrible caricatures of people?

How can someone who has known Vicky almost their entire life be so completely clueless about her? Is he so incredibly stupid that he’s incapable of being even slightly socially intelligent to pick up on her behavioural cues? And how is it okay for him to be so incredibly astonishingly mean and cruel to her? So far extremely unlikable hero.

I tried. Twice. But Devi’s personality didn’t work for me and Hayes’s baggage was not the sort of baggage I wanted to read about.

I don’t like Devi which is interesting and I’d like to see Hayes open up, but not liking Devi ruins it for me.

The Graphic Audio production is fabulous. It’s not my usual read, but GA makes it fun.

Graphic Audio is fabulous for me trying out books that I would never listen to or even read normally.

Another book club book. The reviews make it sound just as boring as all the other book club picks.

This was a lot of fun, but the ending confused me. Does this mean what I think it means? I’ll need to check out the next book to figure it out and see if these are standalone or a continuing series.

This is a lot of fun, and very funny in some parts. A paranormal take on Sherlock Holmes but calling him Warlock Holmes instead. Took me a minute to figure it out. But funny.

Went into this completely blind with a faint inkling that this is a twist on the Sherlock Holmes stories. I am enjoying it so far and listening to it on Graphic Audio which makes it brilliant. Loving the GA production and I think that's what is making this so enjoyable. Sometimes GA can make an average book good or even great because of the production and acting quality.

Most excellent. I need more emotional support dust bunnies.
