The writing is nostalgic. Brings me back to when I was obsessed with the Opportunist and the love me with lies series. I feel like I can see TF's personality through this story and enjoy her sarcasm and view of the world. I forgot how much I like her. The pining of the characters for one another is pretty good too.

I have to say this. Luc, the leader of the resistance, and the remaining other higher ups, are COMPLETE MORONS. Stop being so self sacrificing and idealistic. Your moral high ground is going to get you and everyone else killed. Use your brains, you idiots. It is NO WONDER you lost.

This is the most depressing read I've had in a long time. Not only do people get extremely injured and tortured, they are healed and get to do it all over again. Dead people don't stay dead. This is DARK. I've had to read multiple books during this read just to cleanse my palate and keep going. I want to know what happens but this journey is KILLING me.

I'm always a fan of women who take charge of their life - esp after their dickhead husband who took her for granted now has to pick up the slack. He thought HE'D be leaving to shack up with his 20 something girlfirend? Nu uh, Helen has now gone to her awesome loft and met her hot neighbor. Harold, the idiot, is trying to figure out car pooling to drive his kids to school. It's good. Typical, but good.

Second book ch 8/23
I cannot get over the most recent McDreamy Bollywood reference. PLUS the fact that somehow Aiden is the only one able to take care of her. I left this a while ago and cannot make myself go back to it. Sorry.

I'm settling into this. I'm invested in their story. Helena and Kaine make a formidable team and I like how part 2 delves into the beginnings of their history together, rather than the aftermath - which is all we experience in part 1. It's heartbreaking but at the same time hopeful. It's clear to me that the author is intelligent and I really like the intricacies of this world. It's intriguing.

Progressed from apprehensive to mildly horrified. I feel like there are bad things to come...More bad things, I mean. There have already been a lot of bad things.

Just finished the sample. Bought it. Will see how it goes…the reviews are mixed and I’m a bit apprehensive but I’m having a hard time stopping myself from reading it. If that makes any sense

I'm 50% in the sample. This book is really interesting but at the same time horrifying. The aftermath of war is terrible and the fact that they are necromancers who are reanimating the corpses of the members of the rebellion they killed in order to teach the rebellion members who survived a lesson is disturbing, to say the least. I'm intrigued but worried I'm not going to be able to make it through the horrors...

So...actually reading the two book set so I'm beyond this point of the book in the Proposal. Ch 26/36, to be exact. Unsure about this. There are parts where it's good and I'm invested. BUT then there are cringey parts, for example, when she just called him "Marketing McDreamy" during her teasing and I'm considering jumping ship. I kind of like my MCs to be less dorky.

Will see how much further I get in this.

I really like this one. Minerva is actually intelligent and her spunk is appealing. Colin is very charming and definitely a rogue but a good guy underneath it all. They are a different type of couple from the typical ones I read about and I'm rooting for them to have their HEA. It's very fun, given his ridiculous stories to others during their journey about who they are and her response to the them are hilarious.

So he’s just gross. He didn’t stop sleeping around after they separated. He’s not that remorseful. He SAYS he is but really- then why can’t he keep it in his pants? He’s like a walking disease. (Now she’s having sex with him and I have to resist DNFing cause he’s making me mad. 😡 We’ll see…..

This is hilarious and just enough crazy, that it's holding my interest.

LOL. I'm loving this. The witty banter and her clever comments are making me want to abandon all responsibilities.

The writing is a bit immature and the men completely OTT with exaggerated gestures. I’m not really buying it. Stopping and moving on.

I am going to put this one on hold. I need angst and gritty and less healing. I love this author but need something else right now. (Also, just returned it on KU to make room for another one, so there's that).

OK. I have to pause and mention how incredibly frustrated I am with this book. The mystery of why he loves her so much but also loves his wife who he's lost and why he won't touch her makes me want to tear my hear out. Just TELL US already. I am at the part where I think we find out but I'm taking a break (yes, my second one this book), so I can take it in with the right frame of mind. Also, she's kind of meek.

Whoa. I love his jealousy and the mystery of how he knows so much about her. I’m totally fanning myself with how OTT and Possessive he’s being. Were they lovers in a previous life or before she lost her memory? Is the scar from her losing their baby? Am I totally reading too much into this? I don’t even care. More Gavin, please!!
