It is a true account of an act of compassion from a German luftwaffe ace towards an enemy Allied aircraft
The two men who fought on opposing sides, the American Charlie Brown and his crew and the German Franz Stigler who spared them developed a friendship in later decades. This book shows just how merciful and chivalrous the luftwaffe could be and how they too hated the Nazis.
