I HAVE NO WORDS HONESTLY I LOVE THIS BOOK SO FAR

Parker was beginning to think that conversations with Carly were like kicking a point after: you threw out the words on faith and hoped they sailed through the uprights. Before, she might have given up, called the evening a bust, and asked for the check. But there was something about Carly that made her want to drop her own guard and open up.

“You know,” Parker began, “sometimes girls think that they have to be nice all the time and are not allowed to say what’s on their mind or what’s right. But we don’t. We can’t be mean or say things that hurt people, but we should stand up for ourselves. Always.”

"Some people really haven’t adjusted to life under the Dark Reign of Terror yet. Some things are different, but honestly it’s all cosmetic. Things aren’t that different from when we had a normal, living CEO."

I love this book so much, her writing is just amazing and poignant and evocative. I truly feel immersed in a rainforest while reading.
The chemistry between these characters is off the chart.

Rachael stared into the rich, lush forest, longing growing in her with a strength that shook her. She heard the continual call of the birds, so many of them, saw them flitting from branch to branch, always busy, always in flight. She had a mad desire to dive out of the boat and swim away to disappear into the dark interior.

The first time I started this book I was in a reading slump and I couldn't bring myself to really begin a new series.
Today, I was drawn to it while scrolling the list of books on my kindle.
So here we are, let's get lost in a rainy, dark, vividly green forest populated by wild creatures.

Love the story so far. The only problem. In my opinion, is that some parts could have been reduced/removed. The only thing I want to read about is the main storyline, tbh.
