Parts 1 & 2: Riveting hardcore science fiction in the vein of "Three-Body Problem". Four stars.

Part 3: Corny Avatar-esque world building peppered with one-dimensional characters. 1 star (I fell asleep).

Total: 3 stars. And I don't think I'll be returning to this author. There are too many other good sci-fi writers I have to check out.
