As a fan of All Things Hunter I thought this had a chance. (So far) it doesn't. Wanna-be, three month hanger-on of the Good Doctor seems to be trying her hand at Gonzo writing and failing miserably. The good news is that it is written at about junior high level and I should be done with it by this evening, never to remember it again. Enjoy!

Reading summaries, while very time consuming, certainly increase perspective and understanding. Don't think I would have liked to have been around 1900-1940...

...enjoying the skillful writing of McMurtry...like the way he has the different characters and their stories intertwine and cross paths with each other...as they wind their way to the end of the trail so does the book...

...less pokin', more cowboyin'...still can't help feeling that this, like other "western" novels, is some sort of soap opera/boy-meets-pokes-girl dime store romance...

...not so sure about this one either..."sporting women"..."carrots"..."havin' a poke"...guess the Old West was not dissimilar to the frat houses of today...at least it reads quickly...
