Ok. Asked some good questions re happiness. Misc people became friends through bookshop. 3.5

Meh. So many lies to make the love affair tension. Plus too much focus on body self image that didn’t really fit with story.

Fantasy. Not my fave but an interesting YA read.

Interesting premise about young serviceman who accepted a woman’s child and left her to be found. He was guilt-ridden his whole life and returned to France and Italy to determine if it was found. Mostly enjoyed the cultural references to the countries.

Pretty good. I was struck by her close relationship and support for FDR to the point where she gave speeches to encourage negroes to vote for him. I believe other black women took on that cause too eg mary Bethune. I liked the respect FDR gave her although she was still a maid and it saddens me that it couldn’t have been more. Yet in the historical context it is probably about right.

Too Long. Had a hard time relating to characters mail last fourth of book. Things tied together more but much was from main character’s head. About a 3.

Exhausting reading a lot about her friend and their addictions. Learned a couple things re addiction but not enough to make this book worthwhile for me.

Intense on an island in the ocean. Lots of botanical and animal info. The characters, a father, 3 kids, and a woman washed up on shore were all grieving and had to make wrenching decisions. Dramatic. Mostly liked it although not my usual read. 3.5-4.

Well written. Audio with her reading it was great. She was ambitious but not cocky. Like her truthful approach to the law. Interested in her child being autistic and a bit surprised that she was so saddened by it for so long.

I wasn’t so sure about this at the beginning because the process of putting outfits together in a retail store wasn’t my thing. However, as I went through the story, I started loving Zippy and her course to find herself. Some of the characters were a bit weird For sure, but her journey was truthful.

Meh. Good topics re relationships and evolving and forgiveness. But mostly predictable and wrapped up too easily.

Entertaining as her books are but not as crazy as some. The ending wrapped up too nicely.

Not my genre but pretty good. This book is reportedly popular. I kind of guessed the more major plot twists but not the small ones. 3ish.

About space exploration during the years when women were finally included. Two of the new astronauts entered into a lesbian relationship but were not allowed to be open. A previous time. Really liked it!

Satisfying read. Long. The storyline unraveled slowly with some twists and turns. Liked it. Had the feel of old classics.

Messy family story. They own restaurant. Third generation trying to figure out their lives. Ok reading

Like this author. Romcom went mostly as expected. This was of two lesbians which was interesting. And as with YA book I recently read, their sexual preferences were normalized so the romance could happen without the judgmental backdrop.

Another fun one. A second episode of Vera Wang who solved another mystery while being an interfering motherly Chinese woman. Enjoyed it

Enjoyable. Better than some romcoms. Liked that two writers were vying for same memoir. That story was pretty good.

Utopian town accepting lgbtq community. Sweet adolescent boy falling in love story.

I liked the parts re Bosnia and the war. Very informative. The “current “ story was good although seemed less believable to me.

I liked the dive into mental health issues which gave this romcom more gravity than some others

Decent rom com. But sometimes I just get tired of all the tension which is usually generated by a lack of communication. Esp cuz the protagonist was a writer who wrote a movie about her break up with her husband.

This book contained delicious observations of humans and captured nonverbal interactions well. Sometimes the language was so dense that it slowed the reading down because each sentence had so much meaning. I wonder if I gave the book enough weight. It seems that it was hard for me to keep my attention on it. The story took place in Ireland when a doctor and his daughter were given a foundling baby.

Mostly good but kind of free flowing and switched a lot between times. Main character had drug addicted daughter who had a child. She struggled with how to interact with daughter who li e she took on caregiving for granddaughter. Lots of heavy themes. 3.

This isn’t my usual genre so not sure how it compares. The author did a great job of relating the two possible scenarios each of which informed the other. Sometimes I’d get lost re which scenario I was in but mostly good although not sure I fully believed the ending. 3-3.5.

Heartwarming. About old man who delivers books to people which creates friendships and bonds. And his new 10-yo sidekick girl who facilitates a lot of the connections between people.

Liked the authenticity of the characters. Liked how their walks and talks were the catalyst for their relationship. Reinforced how walking or driving together opens people up and leads to deeper conversations. Loved the banter. 3.5

Stories written in the 1960s by author who died at 22 years old. Nice variety. Most issues re race are still true today. Mostly liked them. 3-4.
