The hard copy book may very well be great, but the audiobook is a DNF for me. I find it way too technical and complicated to follow and, personally, I’m having a hard time with the narrator’s female voice, as well as the way he does various foreign accents. I am going to watch the movie instead, which is something I never say!

Wow. Already in tears with the powerful imagery and now settling in for a wild ride. I found this book in brand new condition in a local Little Free Library, and grabbed it because Dean Koontz was one of my mom’s favorites. Wish I could tell her how excited I am about it. ❤️

80% through and now it’s dragging and I’m sick of Cameron 😉

This is my book club’s pick this month, and I decided to listen to it instead of read it, as a friend suggested. 10 minutes in I thought, “Oh no. This is going to be dumb and silly.”NOT SO. I’m almost halfway through and loving it so much! Using different voices in the audio version is a nice touch.

I’m loving this story! I’m listening to the audiobook at work & during my commute. At first, Louis CK’s narrating felt stilted and awkward but I’ve now gotten used to his narration style and like it. I’m only halfway through and have been moved to tears a few times! The simple goodness within the character Ingram, and the kind people he encounters, is deeply touching. I’m rooting for him!

Oh my goodness this is a total nail biter!!!! The writing is really vivid and I feel like I’m right alongside Pino on the side of the mountain. ❤️

Ehhhh so far this isn’t my favorite. I see characters I’ve read about before and it kind of feels like the second half of a the Round House, which I loved.

But the weaving together of a bunch of different stories in this book isn’t holding my interest. All that said, I LOVE this author; I might shelf this one and try another instead.

I like the story so far (but I’m having trouble telling Henry & Francis apart)! I can’t tell which decade this is supposed to be set in-I think it’s supposed to be the 80s but the dialogue/style of dress is more 1930s/40s. (I wish I could get past this but I can’t!)

Constant Greek references are unnecessary and detract from the story for me, since I’m not a Greek scholar. Would be just as good without it.

Really interesting story and so well written and hard to put down; not as heavy as The Overstory, which I loved!

I really like the author’s style of writing, but so far I am not finding the characters or story itself quite interesting enough to care about.

I really like Margaret Meyer’s style of writing, but there isn’t much happening in the book and I only have about 50 pages to go. I’m hoping it ends with a bang!

Can’t quite get into this so far but I love Ann Patchett so I will keep trying!

Already hooked!

So many twists and turns - I love it and am on the edge of my seat!
