This is a book you can pick up and read a few sections and then easily pick it up later. It’s fascinating! Roman mars is an architectural nerd. He looks at a building the same was I do: “hmm, I wonder what purpose that thingamajig serves?” He explains all this stuff and more! Still working through it. I don’t want it to end!

This was a book club read for “The Book Lisp” podcast. (Highly recommend.). I found it a bit tedious. I didn’t finish it.

Being an early work of KHannah, it’s now quite as refined as her current works. It’s still a great story.

While only at the 1/3rd mark of progress, I have already learned shocking, maddening, and yet thoughtful discussion of American involvement in the Middle East. The prose is that of a scholar, but also of one who enjoys injecting rare words and phrases to replace ones more meaningful. This, on top of the intense subject matter makes for very slow reading.

Heartbreaking so far. But so full of hope!

This is so much fun! I mean… who wouldn’t want to go on a cross country road trip with a quick witted 80 year old harboring a deep secret and a 21 year old with a sheltered view of life, and posing as her granddaughter?! I’m having fun riding in the backseat while we try to outrun the law without forgetting about what really matters!
