This is the first time in years that I've seen an omniscient narrator. They've become so rare!
This first part I've read chronicles the boys at ages 10 through 18, so it'd be easy to say "nothing happened yet" in this novel, but I really appreciate the author taking the time to create her characters before she lets WWI break them down. It's a lost art at this point.
