Loving Dixon hitting the through lines of their adventures as places outside of the mainlands utilizing slavery. Mason being upset and unsure how to reply is great, and Dixon becoming militant about it. This book is the slowest burn imaginable, but great.

I've read everything Pynchon has written to date, and this is the first time he's ever made me cry. Just stunning.
Mason's drive with his son, the son who the very existence of scared him so much he took the Pennsylvania contract and ran off to America with Dixon, all culminating to finding the unmarked grave. Fuck.

There's something about this book. It feels like it drags, but I'm at the point where I just know Mason and Dixon so well (or at least Cherry-coke's version of them) that I just wanna keep going and for it not to end.
Wildly effective storytelling that crept up on me.
