It started so well, some mystery, a lot of action, adventures, twists and now the plot is meandering and I am losing interest

I probably need to reread this. I remembered struggling in the first three chapters as a teenager, and then being unable to put it down. However, I was like 15, soooooo

I am having the opposite problem. The first chapters were dramatic and incredibleThe middle is slows down. Hopefully not picks up in the end.
I hope so too! I always preferred it to Treasure Island (though I LOVED that one too. I was a big Robert Louis Stevenson fan as a teen).
