first line hooked me but downhill since. how do you talk (beautifully btw) about invisible chronic pain, then IMMEDIATELY invalidate and mock others’ invisible pain (phobias, anxiety, etc. which the brain perceives as physical pain and can induce physical illness) and label them a hypochondriac? it’s giving patriarchy assuming other women and kids are just hysterical/stupid and not experiencing “actual” pain

How are you gonna have great nuanced dialogue about unfair expectations on Black writers+their systemic exclusion right after you say Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie didn’t deserve an award lolllll pls. Both of these narrators are insufferable, and they just keep putting others down while glorifying themselves 😭

+mocking the fans of the narrator’s book series is disappointing. god forbid a book girly find community and SUPPORTS YOUR ENTIRE LIFE FINANCIALLY BY BUYING YOUR ART &MAKING FANFIC &KEEPING THE SERIES ALIVE?!? you can feel ick about what you made without mocking the people who stood by your creations since day one…the fact that the writer thought up this scenario is sad & makes me not wanna support this irl book
