ALMOST THERE!

What the hell is wrong with you, Tom Benton—you absolute psycho? 😭 (I knew it. I was right. He’s actually sick.)

I've made it clear that my feelings for this book and its characters are conflicted. But here's one thing—popular or unpopular opinion, I couldn't care less—but if you wanna have an attractive male character, you don't need to make them mysterious. Just make them communicatively skilled. Something more than just tensed jaws and avoiding eye contact. Thank you very much.

I like you, Adam Carlsen—but I cannot express my resentment for professors like you and their never-checked inboxes enough. Also, the way you keep calling Olive a “smart-ass” makes you more and more of a cliché. But I still like you... kinda.

Now I’m just criticizing, hoping it ends sooner—because I just can't not finish another book at the moment. And honestly, I wanna keep reading to see if my assumptions are true or not. Also, I just realized it’s such a fanfiction (I love fanfictions, but this one particularly feels like something I would’ve run into on Wattpad back in 2017).

Honestly, I started the book because it's been said that it’s about a woman in STEM. Well, it is about a woman in STEM—but seriously, there are so many things that could’ve been discussed. It could’ve been way more realistic than it is. Maybe I’m being impatient (I’m at chapter 5 out of 22), and I can’t deny the fact that the story is cute and fun to read, but still, I’m not getting what I was hoping for.

Girl’s a Ph.D. candidate at THE GODDAMN Stanford University—and yet her self-esteem? Lower than low. (btw, the cliché is clichéing.)

I'm pretty sure that if the story were set around people in mathematics or computer science, I’d be head over heels for it by now.
I know I already said I didn’t like it right after reading the epilogue, but seriously—it looks like it’s doing its job and winning me over.
(He's a computational modeler, why no one told me he's a computational modeler?)

Adam Carlsen seems like one of those professors everyone talks shit about—until you end up taking their course with zero interest and realize: huh, he’s actually a nice guy. A total dick when it comes to academia, but still, a nice guy.

One chapter in and I’m already 🤏🏻 this close to breaking up with this book. Let’s see if it wins me back...
