Records indicate that I last read it the year before we met, '09, a year that also included (according to my records) Infinite Jest, The Brothers Karamazov, The Tempest, Blood Meridian, Steppenwolf, Beyond Good and Evil, Dubliners and Frankenstein, among others. Just looking at that list exhausts me now, at my advanced age, but I figured I would revisit at least a small piece of that year in the form of Ubik. It's one of PKD's crazier novels so far, which is saying something.
