Zeno was an ancient Greek philosopher who ended up being tortured by people who didn't like his ideas. Nowadays philosophers are hardly ever tortured, because most people ignore them completely, and it's hard to say which is the worse fate for philosophy and the people who practice it, being tortured or being ignored.

Very true! But then, the philosophers of ancient times would be internet influencers today...and we know what people think of them....

I wonder if there was a decay in the quality of our thinkers or if the influencers of today will be read like Plato or Aristophanes in the future... (kidding, kind of) Isn't there a book that would pair Kim Kardashian selfies with Kierkegaard's quotes? Or was it a Twitter account? Anyways, should we torture our influencers like we did Zeno?
It'd be a lot more fun than torturing some grumpy guy, but we'd probably get in a lot more trouble re: millions of witnesses. 😉
