James Wheeler I think the world is indifferent to coercive models of stating Christian "truth".

Tom Greentree It’s not coercive in the slightest. Have you read it?

James Wheeler Not saying this book operates this way, but i think the phrase that the world is indifferent is an overstatement. Maybe just my current mindset but even the rhetoric of "world" sounds pejorative to me, a loaded term that seems to emphasize some sort of exceptional christianity. The old binary language of world / faith, Christian / pagan, etc are inadequate for stating the beauty and depth of Jesus and the sublime reality of the trinity.

James Wheeler I like how bonhoeffer addresses this in Letters and Papers from Prison.

Tom Greentree It would seem we need to be engaging people wherever they are at, and that with wisdom, grace, truth and love. It’s really not much different than it’s ever been.
