Powerful words. “Men have raped women workers ever since they were allowed to own them…when vulnerable women entered homes far from their own and were expected to be compliant under threat of recommitment…But this is what eugenics in Virginia actually looked like, even out of the shadows; a pathetic guild of men complaining that the very system they controlled was making their lives difficult.”
