It took me a bit to get into it, but this ended up being so much fun! I'm actually so mad I have to wait to get the next couple books.

The concept of aliens having VR fanfiction and how they're utilizing it is hilarious, well done.

That might have been my favorite part of the book so far. Piss them all off, Carl. Piss them all the way off.

I have not seen a character this obsessed with building explosives since Wylan Van Eck... Carl might, in fact, be worse.

This is all so truly disturbing

I know everyone keeps telling Carl to become a fighting class, but man, does he yearn for the pyromancy that comes with Artificing

The best running gag of this book is the foot fetish

Body horror is my least favorite thing in the world, so you can imagine how I feel right now.

It took a bit to get me interested, but now we're moving.

I think it says something about Carl's psyche that the first time he's been able to relax in years is in the midst of an alien invasion/death crawl. Maybe he's more relatable than I thought
