This is so good. I'm about to cry...

OMG, Sarina Bowen is such a master at relationships. This is perfection. This is why I read romance.

I love this book. The characters are so real and genuine.

“He’s not a date,” I correct automatically. “He was just a regular customer.”
Charlie gives me a skeptical look. “A regular customer who gives you hockey tickets and comes over to play video games with me? Dad, I’m not stupid.”

“He and I are in different places in life. It’s not a great fit.”
“You’re in different places,” he repeats slowly. Like the words are so dumb he almost can’t pronounce them. “Like, he’s in a fun place, and you’re in a place where you say no to everything and worry a lot.”

This is so good. I know the "affection heals the broken grumpy guy" trope has been done to death by now, but it's a joy to see two interesting and perfectly fleshed out characters have a shot at it.

Forest's issue really goes under my skin. No wonder he's so hesitant.

“Wait, you’re a…?” The word gets stuck on the tip of my tongue. Because it can’t be true.
He squints at me. “A virgin. Like, it isn’t obvious? Do I strike you as someone with a lot of seduction experience? Or, like, any?”
