It just became repetitive toward the end. I'm not feeling connected to the characters or the story itself.

It did. I had zero interest in reading any of it lol. Idk why it is so popular. Definitely overhyped, in my opinion.
Yeah may be I heard its like Asoiaf but now I don't wanna buy it
Still read this if you want to. Everyone has different tastes, so what I don't like may be something you enjoy. If you want something reminiscent of ASOIAF, I'd highly recommend the Gael Song trilogy.
I'll try it if I am able to find that here at book store, but for now I can't read hope I'll have time soon
