Okay this book starts off really strong, like of course this book was recommended, so when the preview goes “she’s human living among immortal of loyalty and she had a tragic past or whatever” I didn’t even expect her “tragic pass” to be where her stepfather killed her mother… long story short: Carden is a royal pain in the ass, but I do feel for him, and wow is he opposed with Jude.
