The New Testament introduces the person who would lead the way with this new covenant. Jesus was fully human and fully God, and He came to earth to renew humanity's broken relationship with God and fulfill both sides of the covenant. Now whoever believes in Jesus and accepts His sacrifice as their own can become part of God's covenantal family.

And as humans, we get to choose who deserves our allegiance. We can choose God's way, which results in eternal life, or we can choose the way of the world, which leads to death. With pure hearts, our lives can be bridges between heaven and earth, and everywhere we go, we can bring the kingdom of God with us.

Instead of forcing them to make the decision He wanted them to make, God gave them a choice. This is called "free will." He didn't create robots. He created humans to partner with. There can be no love without freedom.
