Learned a lot about externalizers, I don’t believe I quite resonate with the externalizer as much as I do with the interlizer. If anything I thought a lot about my family who seem to have some of those traits, and how when Jen was a kid she could be menacing to say the least and her behavior was always more tolerable than mine or Jess’ reaction to it. My mom was a mix of rejecting and passive, when she would engage with me as a parent it would either be overly kind or intensely brutal. When we would hug it almost seemed like an excuse to get mad at me for how pointy my chin was or whatever, she told me my hugs hurt her which always made me so sad. I haven’t run into that issue with anyone else either

Realizing my emotions made my mother uncomfortable because she herself was faced with emotional neglect by both my grandmother and bio grandfather. I myself struggle with some emotional immaturity when it comes to dealing with anger and it’s something I’m excited to understand deeper so I can hopefully break that cycle
