Writing update! This year is racing by in a blur! I can’t believe we are already heading towards the end of April.

Last week went okay-ish … I guess? There is still a good amount of jumping backwards and forwards in the draft, but I am heading towards the final confrontation and the end. So … I guess a soldier on and hope for the best.

Writing update! The first revisions are done-ish up to Chapter 30. The narrative strategy of The House is quite different compared to The Fragments where I moved from Part to Part based on location, so breaking the book up into Parts might not be the best way forwards … . We’ll see!

Writing Update! I have until May 14th to finish the first revision of The House and I am stuck in the dreaded middle of the book in a Middle Book … ARGH!

Time for a writing update \(^-^)/ — It’s the first update in April and the goal for this month is to finish the first revision! This is going to be very, very tight! To make it a tiny bit more feasible, the actual deadline is May 14th—six weeks to go!

So how did last week go? I met my three chapters a week goal! The first revisions / re-writes for Interlude 2 and Chapters 17 and 18 are done!

And I did it—but only because I spent most of last Sunday frantically writing.
So ... I completed the first revisions for chapters 14, 15 and 16.
Total word count for the first revised draft of The House is now 98,500 words.

Time for a writing update \(^-^)/ — my #shutupandwrite2023 goal for March is to complete the first revisions for 3 chapters a week. Last week, I completed the re-re-write of Chapters 1 and 3, cleaned up Part 1 and its 9 chapters, wrote one interlude, and re-wrote chapter 10
