I knew from the first couple of pages that I wouldn't be able to put this down. The understated horrors of the beginning had me re-reading before moving on. I realised in short order that the basis for the book is that of zombies having overrun the populace and despite being not in the least interested in that subject I find its already too late because Melanie had me hooked from the off!
