There is an element in common with These old shades by Georgette Heyer, but while I didn't like that novel, this one, little by little, turned out to be nice.

It takes a little to get into it, but probably it's because it's book #1 in a series and I'm not yet fond of the characters or because the previous book I read was so engaging that now everything else sounds me a little bit flat and boring.
So far I would rate it no more than 2.9 stars (i.e. not even full 3 stars ).
Hoping it will improve.

So far it hasn't managed to involve me, but I'm not even halfway there, so there is hope. The last book I read was very intense and after something engaging it's difficult to find full satisfaction in a cozy mystery (at least for me it's usually like that), but I wanted to read something very short...
