WOW. "Tie Me Down" is the first novella in Luna Day's The AfterGlow series, and it kicks things off with a BANG. LITERALLY. This book is fast-paced, intense, and delicious! This week was ropes week for me while I was reading, I guess, because between this and Sara Cate's "The Good Girl Effect," your girl is a convert now and needs more recommendations. LOL. I loved how well-developed the relationship between the main characters, Olivia and Nico, is portrayed, even though this is a story on the shorter side. You get the sense of them both as individuals and as a couple very early on. Their bond with one another is strong, and their trust in one another runs deep. The consent, the constant checking in with one another, and the open and honest communication between them blew me away. Total goals, as the youths say! The spice DO BE SPICIN' in this one. You're just going to love it. I especially loved the mask/s part, too. I needed to turn a fan on while reading! I also appreciated Olivia's friendship group in this story. They all seem like the closest, best group of supportive pals who listen, laugh, and validate each other while upholding their boundaries. I really enjoyed this novella and can't wait to read the others in the series!

I knew going into this series that they would be very spicy, but I didn't realize it would be a series of shorter stories with little plot/underdeveloped characters...I am a bit disappointed. But the steamy smut makes up for it.

Tie Me Down is pure heat wrapped in intimacy, trust, and communication. While the plot is minimal, what really shines is Nico and Liv’s relationship. Their connection is electric from the very first page, and I loved the way they explore kinks together!

I love Luna Day's stories; you can tell she put research and care into writing these scenes! They are so vivid and sensual, and even if you know nothing about Shibari, the descriptions let you see every knot and tug while keeping it beautifully intimate.

Don't even get me started on the masked roleplay at the end!!

Overall, a scorching, short read that delivered a steamy erotic story. It’s intimate, respectful, and intensely sexy, with a couple whose trust and connection make every scene hit harder.

I love how you immediately get introduced to a friend group that seems so close, supportive and encouraging! The first chapter really shows we’re about to meet 3 couples that are completely different, with a variety of likes and dislikes. The first book is the perfect introduction in Luna’s Afterglow series, with Olivia and Nico, who consider themselves to be quite vanilla compared to their friends. I absolutely ate this short novella up in one sitting and am so excited for the next two!!

This is three novellas all in one book and let me tell you that they are spicy and all so good.
Tie Me Down: The first one following Olivia and Nico. The story follows on consent and their developing relationship, which was well written. I liked how fast-paced this story was and it was also very spicy. Comparing this to the rest and by keeping it as it’s individual, I would give this a 3.5/5 stars. 3/5 steam level.
Turn Me On: This story follows Charlee and Rider. We have a curvy FMC and our tough MMC.I liked this story more than the first one especially as it was just fun in it’s own way. This story is a bit steamier than book 1. This story deals with performances in the club and creating videos. 4/5 stars and 3.5/5 level of steam.
Wear Me Out: This is Lilah and Adam’s story, which is an age gap story. I would say that I liked this a lot more than the first two. I don’t know the exact age gap between the two but this story was great, short, and fast paced. It was spicy and explores inside the couple’s life. 4.5/5 stars 4/5 spice

I would say that each novella gives a different perspective on a story so that they aren’t repetitive. They each have their own tropes, exploration, and spice level. However, I personally enjoyed these stories and recommend checking them out. Do check out the trigger warnings becaue there are some sensitive topics that I know won’t work for all readers.

This was such a sexy and quick read. Luna knows how to keep you reading. Her writing style is fun and easy to read. I tore this book up! I was SAT. I loved how Olivia kept her sex life between her and her boyfriend. I loved how Luna showed how sexy, intimate, and incredible sex life can be when it’s just between you and your partner and not the whole world. I loved the private, only his/hers vibe. Something about that aspect really made me happy. I really appreciate the knowledge going into this. All the BDSM terminology, safety protocols, and consent. This is all really important and I love seeing this in books. Let’s me know the author has done good research. The story is sexy as hell. This book… how do I put this, you will need a cold cold cold shower after. I was nodding my head and kicking my feet cuz PHEW. Golly that will make a girl blush and stay on the edge of her seat. a mask? A dark room? A certain kink that makes you question yourself? Absolutely. Give me 12 books just like it. I will eat it up every single time. I kept getting Sara Cate vibes and honestly that’s delicious. If you love the salacious players club steamy scenes…I think you would love this series!

So here’s the thing: Nico had me on the hook. When Luna Day let him slip into his Italian god mode—confident, commanding, that yes sir, take me now energy—I was obsessed. He had the potential to be legendary. But then… we got “Kink 101: Live Demonstration.” And let me tell you, nothing kills the mood faster than play-by-play instructions that sound like a DIY YouTube tutorial. “Now you do this, now you feel that.” Babe, I don’t need a syllabus with my smut.

The group lesson chapters? Meh. The spark just wasn’t there. But once it stripped down to Nico and the FMC in that private fantasy—chef’s kiss levels of hot (and no, not using that phrase for real, you know what I mean 👀). That’s where Luna reminded me she knows how to write steam that actually burns. Honestly, if the whole novella had just been that, it would’ve slayed.

The missed steps hurt a little—like I wanted more character build-up before diving headfirst into the fantasy, and the ending felt more like a setup for the next book than a payoff for this one. But still, the smut hit when it mattered, and Nico’s flashes of dominance made me believe he could’ve been the whole damn meal instead of just a sampler platter.

Okay, First things first - If you know me, don't read this review. please.

That being said, this novella is so hot. It's shibari, so getting tied up, restrained, pretty harnesses and suspension. plus CNC and masks. Oh la la!!

Reading it, it felt like safe, sane and consensual at its best. Talk of safe words and communication about what they wanted and how it was going to go, ON-PAGE aftercare. Like, maybe I have low standards for kinky published erotica, but like, it felt *good* to read it.

Luna Day always writes well, and Tie Me Down is no exception. To me, it reads as informative, BUT NOT A HOW-TO GUIDE. IT'S NEVER A HOW-TO GUIDE UNLESS SPECIFIED.

I'm bad at the pepper scale because I don't really follow it when picking books, BUT, I know it's up there... It's 4 or 5, I think. And I have it as 5 stars, but it's probably a 4.5 rounded up for me. (One or two lines had "juices" in it, and that brought me out of it, but I don't want my squick to affect the rating)

Wow… just wow. This book is so steamy 🔥. Luna Day knows exactly how to grab your attention and keep it tied up (pun fully intended). From page one, it’s clear this isn’t just spice for spice’s sake — there’s real romance and plot woven through, which makes every heated moment even more impactful. I loved that balance because it kept me hooked on the story as much as the spice.

The shibari? Absolutely chef’s kiss. You can tell so much research and care went into writing these scenes, because they’re incredibly vivid without ever feeling clinical. Even if you know next to nothing about rope play, the way it’s described means you can envision every detail, every knot, every tug 👀. It’s written with such artistry that it feels sensual, respectful, and honestly beautiful.

And then there’s the dynamic between the characters. The masked MMC, the Italian pet names, the trust, the push and pull — it’s electric. There’s tension, there’s intimacy, and there’s plenty of aftercare, which made the whole thing feel grounded in love as much as lust. It’s short enough to binge in one sitting, but it still packs a punch with the emotions as well as the spice.

If you’re looking for something that’s unapologetically hot but still has heart, Tie Me Down is it. Rope, romance, passion, and just the right touch of tenderness — it really does deliver in knots 😉.

This was one heck of a spicy novella! It takes place at AfterGlow, Vancouver's hottest sex club. We do love a Canadian setting! This book featured established couple, Olivia and Nico who are super into shibari rope play. It was very clear the author had done her research on the art form as the details were detailing! I don't know much about the knots and ropes but it was clear a lot of effort went into making it accurate! Nico's adoration and lust for Olivia was unmatched. I read a lot of romance (not as much erotica) and he was in a league of his own! Another thing I love about this author which was so clear in this novella (and the others in the series) is the attention to hygiene! Nico having the thought to clean the ropes afterward - cue the applause. These are the little details that I love! If you are looking for a quick, easy, but VERY SPICY read, pick this one up!

This series as a whole was such a fun experience. Being able to sit down and read all three within a few hours was a great use of my time.

Tie Me Down, in particular, blew me away solely with the amount of research that went into the shibari portion of the story. It did occasionally read like a how-to manual, which pulled me out of the moment a bit, but otherwise I enjoyed the spicy scenes. Especially, the MMC that obviously has a pleasure k!nk and is obsessed with his girl (something all the MMC's in this series showcase in different ways.) This is one of the better D/s relationship books I've read, and even though it didn't dive deep into much, the little things were there, and I appreciated that.

The prologue and epilogues being essentially the same from the different FMC's perspectives was also a fun little treat.

This is a super fun and quick read. This is book one of a trilogy focusing on three friends separate nights at a kink club. The BDSM aspects were well researched and well explained. I loved the safety consciousness of all of the characters in the novella. The female character even uses her safety word which is rare in the book world. The MMC and FMC had great chemistry together and I enjoyed their exploration.

Overall, I thought it was a fun read however I feel like the spice could have been spicier considering the novella is marketed as erotica.

Omg this was so cute? It was obviously also mucho spicy as well and I of course loved that aspect so much. There was some of my favourite spicy tropes and goodies in here but the sweetness of Nico and Olivia? I was not expecting and I ate it up. This little novella had me giggling from both the softness and spice.

My favourite thing when it comes to spice is when the softness comes after. I’m a sucker for it. And this novella hands down has some of the best aftercare I’ve read!

You can really tell that Luna did her research with the rigging terms and lingo! It was fun to see everything explained and also, we love to see all this fun stuff practiced and taught for professionals in safe environmentssss! Yes we do!

This was an incredibly easy read! It was pretty much spice from start to finish. There wasn't much plot, but I was aware of that before reading it, and I was here for it. I think Luna did a wonderful job at giving development to the characters in this short novella. I loved getting to see little pieces of Liv and Nico as individuals but also as a couple. Their intimacy and love were a real stand out. Nico was definitely all about his love for Liv. I loved how Liv wanted to keep their love private. I loved the kink exploration.

Can't wait to read the next two books in the series.

Tie me Down is Part 1 of the AfterGlow series featuring Nico &Olivia. It is novella length but it packs an extreme punch in the spice department!

It follows the couple and their new interest in rope play and exploring the relationship of a rope bunny/ rigger dom. While we don’t learn much about them, we really see their relationship and the trust Olivia has in Nico in order to allow him to tie her up and enjoy this new experience together.
