If ever there was a man who needed to grow and have confidence in himself and his beliefs it’s Reid .
This is a powerful story , maybe more so than any other in the series.
Reid is a troubled man , he’s a womaniser, and a rogue ,And even though he’s well liked he’s not one to be trusted with anything .
But why does he act the way he does ?
Questions will be answered , get your tissues at the ready .
This story is emotional and devours you as you read it , tearing yourself from the book is not an option , your hooked the minute you start.
I loved his partner Allie , Gillian’s sister , she everything he needs and he sees it immediately on meeting her , so does she , though her family and troubled border situations try to keep them apart.
It’s so lovely watching them grow and develop.
I really loved this book so much ,
My favourite in the series till now was Bryce’s book , but I have to say I think this one has stolen my heart .
I received an advance copy of this book and chose to submit a review

The Rogue's Redemption is the 7th book in the Border series by Cecelia Mecca. Although part of a series where we were previously introduced to many of the characters you can still enjoy and follow this story well on its own. As a fan of the series, I recommend that at some point you read the others because I am sure you will enjoy them all.

You know when you read the blurb of a book and you think that it sounds like it could be a great story? Then you read the book and you realise that it's even better than you thought it could be? That's how I felt about this book.

Reid and Allie are remarkable characters. Reid is the youngest brother of Toren, the Laird of Clan Kerr. He has always felt second best to both of his brothers. He is a great warrior, loved by his family, but he also has the reputation of a rogue. Toren wants Reid to be his second in command but Reid refuses to apply to the elders for the position. He knows they will turn him down, and rightly so. He has no confidence in himself, he's earned his reputation and is settled with the way his life is. That is until he meets Allie for the second time. The first time was at an Inn where he did little to ingratiate himself to her.

Allie is an independent woman who managed to escape an arranged marriage to a vile man. She wishes she could make her own decisions and not constantly be wrapped in cotton wool and not allowed to do anything her family deems dangerous. She now lives with her sister at Highgate where a get together is taking place to discuss the unrest between the Scottish clans living on the borders and the English. A meeting that Reid is attending.

Surprisingly a relationship develops between our couple, one that seems doomed from the start. Not only does Allie's sister and her husband think Reid should stay away from her, and make it known, but Reid's lack of confidence makes him doubt that he could be the man Allie wants and deserves.

Add to that the constant threat of war between the border clans and the English breaking out and you have a book that will snag your attention from the very first pages. I loved the deliberations taking place with some wanting to fight and others hoping for a peaceful resolution. More than that though was my enjoyment of watching Allie help Reid to realise his worth to his family, his clan and most importantly to her.

Reid and Allie are a passionate couple, their intimate moments were steamy hot. Definitely not a book for those who prefer fade to black love scenes. Fortunately, I don't mind a scene or two that have me reaching for my fan and Cecelia Mecca knows just how to write the perfect passionate interlude. Not just sex, but the emotional, heartfelt treasuring of each other. Not knowing if our couple could have their happy ever after helped raise the intensity of any kissing and canoodling they managed to share. Could that particular kiss be the last that they have?

I can't recommend this book highly enough. There is never a dull moment and you will find you can't read quickly enough to find out what happens with not only Reid and Allie but with the pending war between the Scottish and English borders looming.

Reid Kerr is content with his place as head guard for his brother, Toren. He lives up to his reputation for being unreliable and clings to his well-known determination never to marry. But when he is sent to Highgate End as his brother's representative at a summit of border chiefs, he meets a woman who has him questioning everything he thought he knew about himself and his goals.

Allie Bowman has just escaped an unwanted marriage, and England, and would love to stay as a permanent visitor at her sister's home, Highgate End. She's enjoying the freedom to finally be herself. At lease until she falls for one of Scotland's most notorious rogues and her sister Gillian makes it clear she has certain expectations about who Allie should marry and Reid is decidedly not that man.

Reid and Allie are determined to be together despite the family and outside circumstances threatening to keep them apart, but their biggest obstacle may in fact be Reid himself.

Gillian's mothering of Allie got on even my nerves, so Alllie's patience is definitely to be commended. Thankfully, she redeemed herself in the end and I wound up liking her, which is especially good since I have yet to read her book. I loved Allie's determination to have her own way for once and to prove that she knew her own mind and what was best for her. She never gave up on Reid even when she would have been wholly warranted in doing so and I loved that. Reid was a typical bad boy with a terrible reputation and a good heart, he just lacked confidence in himself and his own worthiness and that was so sad and also relatable. I loved seeing him grow and find himself as well as love.

I'm reading this series all out of order but nonetheless, I'm loving it. I bought this on Kindle but wound up listening to it on audio and as always Tim Campbell is fabulous.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an audio advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Rogue's Redemption by Cecelia Mecca is book 8 in the Border Series. This is the story of Allie Bowman and Reid Kerr. I have read the previous books (and Loved them!) , we have been introduced to Allie and Reid in the previous books, but I feel you can read this as a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Reid is very welled liked but hasn't done anything to prove that he is anymore than what the people think of him...a rogue and not one to depend on. But when he meets Allie she sees him for more than the other do and even himself. Sparks fly between the two but Allie's sister is very protective of her sister and she is one of Reid's biggest naysayer. Allie just escape an arranged marriage now living with her sister who she loves and doesn't want to hurt her....but feelings for Reid are growing.
This has been such a great series and this was another page turner....could not put it down. Loved it!

In an unstable period of history and along the volatile border between Scotland and England, the Border strongholds have a difficult time keeping the peace between the warring factions that would upset the balance of power. In the midst of it, Reid Kerr represents his brother at a meeting of the border chiefs, where he comes face to face with the feisty and strong-minded Allie Bowman. Realising that he has antagonised Allie's sister, Reid knows that he has tread very carefully if he wants to win Allie's heart. Reid's reputation is less than stellar and ultimately it is not only Allie's family he has to win over, but he also needs to readjust his own self-esteem if he is ever to feel worthy of Allie. As with all the other books in this series, I loved both the hero and the heroine in this story as well as meeting up again with the other clansmen and women from previous books. The novel is well written, fully depicting the historical period, with all the heartfelt romance one expects from Ms Mecca. Although this book is part of a series, it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is a book you can't put down once you start reading. I've been in love with Reid long before he got his story told. What can I say? I just love a hot rogue! The first and second meeting between Reid and Allie just made me love him even more. And I really enjoy a determined heroine. In my mind, I kept telling Allie "don't give up on him" many times. And when she left with her sister, who made me furious, I actually screamed out loud 'NO'. Reid affected me even more. I kept going between wanting to hit him to telling him to stop doubting himself. As you can see, this book is extremely engaging and I can't recommend it enough. And now I need Aiden's story!

I love a good Scottish historical romance and this book did not disappoint. The author did a wonderful job at creating an entertaining story and a super smexy romance. For the audiobook version the narrator did a fantastic job at portraying the characters, I loved listening to his voice. This book is a MUST read!

I really enjoyed Reid and Allie's story.

Neither of them looking for love, Reid and Allie are surprised at their mutual feelings for each other. But since Reid has such a bad reputation, Allie's sister won't hear of her pledging herself to him. Can Reid proved that he is a changed man and good enough for Allie?

After meeting Allie in her sister's story, I was glad to see her get her HEA. I also really enjoyed watching Reid come into his own and take his place within the clan.

I can't wait to see what Mecca has in store for us next!

I would like to thank the author for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Allie has escaped an arranged marriage to go and live with her recently married sister in Scotland. Reid Kerr is the one man everybody has warned her away from, but she just can't seem to stay away. Reid is struggling to prove himself to his clan, is Allie the woman to see through all of it and redeem him?

I loved how brave Allie is and how she thought for Reid even as he was pushing her away.

I found this a good book. Reid is a character who is confused with his place in Brockburg Castle. He refused to be Toren's second in command and doesn't value himself to be a responsible leader. When he meets Lady Allie she sees the value in him and attempts to show him that. They have to fight for their love from lots of sides including Lady Gillian, Allie's sister.

Reid is a hot and arrogant warrior. Allie is sheltered but strong. They are both stubborn. Reid falls for Allie so that he does not want to womanize anymore. He wants to take on clan responsibility and be the man that Allie loves. Love the border series and this new book doesn’t disappoint. Good conflicts and who doesn’t love a woman who can wield a sword.

Reid is a man who's loved a thousand women but can't love himself.

As the weeks-long council begins, all Reid can think of his what he usually does to occupy his spare time. But then he meets Allie, a woman so completely unlike any he's ever met before that he's not sure what he knows anymore. But even if he wanted to settle down, Allie is entirely off-limits, especially without her sister's approval, and that sister is the one woman in all of Scotland who has less respect for Reid than he has for himself.

My heart was instantly immersed in this beautiful story and its vibrant, vividly described setting. Allie captivates Reid because she sees past his outward persona to the honorable yet troubled man he hides inside. She knows he's capable of redemption, but even she has no idea of how much he needs redemption for. Their slow-building love is only half the story - getting the necessary support of her family proves to be a hill Reid just may have to die on.

This is another enchanting trip to the medieval border between England and Scotland, and it's the most emotionally powerful one yet. Reid's personal journey is as poignant and moving as their love story. The political intrigue we expect from the series so far is ever-present, though it definitely stays in the background in this installment. This is about Reid's journey to become the man that Allie sees, a man worthy of her and at peace with himself. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

What a breath-taking, page-turning story!!! I cursed the clock for the time that had passed where I had to put the book down.

Take Reid, a man who's reputation precedes him. Everyone knows he's a skilled warrior but he's also just as skilled with the ladies. He cares not for his reputation and continues living his life as he knows others expect him to.....until he meets her.

Allie is staying with her sister since a falling out with her father who tried to marry her off to an old man to gain wealth. She's immediately taken by this new arrival and with each moment she spends with him not only sees the man she knows is behind his exterior but also realizes she cannot control her thoughts on wanting him. His touch sends her to a place she did not want to leave and the feelings she has for him...she hoped to never recover from. The issue would be getting her sister and others to see the man she saw before her.

The story unfolds from here and let me tell you, it's one you will be thrilled to have in your fingertips. I kept tapping on the last page hoping there was more and then realization set in... I was at the end of the book. It's that good!

I was gifted (and I use that term loosely) with an ARC and am thrilled to leave my review. This comes with my highest recommendation. Don't hesitate, BUY the BOOK!! You won't be sorry.

I loved finally getting to read Reid’s story. He is the third son who has always lived his life as a womanizer and a rogue. Feeling no self confidence and proving himself untrustworthy in everyone’s
eyes until he meets Allie. She sees him for the man he is and convinces him that he does have good and honor inside himself. I fell in love with him right along with Allie. There are wonderful characters in this book as well. Cecelia Mecca has a way of bringing all her characters to life in a remarkable way. I highly recommend this book as well all in this series. I was gifted this book and am voluntarily reviewing.

Reid Kerr has refused to ask for the place of his Clan chief and brother's second in command, because he knows he is not good enough to be accepted. The middle brother who was the second, married and moved away from the clan stronghold. Reid has always been the undisciplined one in the family, taking his pleasure without care about those who disapprove.
English woman Allie Bowman escaped an arranged marriage and is living with her sister in Scotland. It feels like home even if the border is rife with tension. Her main problem is trying to find her own way without hurting her overprotective sister.
A lovely historical romance with characters you can't help but fall in live with. It is part of a series but easily read on it's own.
Good fun.

Finally we get to experience Reid's story! He is such a bad boy who doesn't care what anyone thinks. Until of course he meets Allie and then that's all she wrote! Reid is just swoon worthy and you will not be able to turn the pages fast enough! And of course Ms. Mecca does a stellar job in her writing so that you feel you are there experiencing it all. She is an excellent writer and I'm fortunate that I found her. I truly can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve next!

Reid was the bad boy of the Scottish Kerr clan. Being the third brother, her was not in line for the leadership of the clan and had no real role besides being a fierce warrior. But he had a well-earned reputation as a womanizer and no interest in settling down. I think that Cecelia had fun writing about Reid because at first, and in the earlier border books, he has no redeeming values. But when his brother Alex decides that he does not wish to be second in the line to be clan chief, he convinces everyone that he does not want to be second either. Or does he? All is not as it appears with Reid and he has built a façade to protect himself. Under the shell of arrogance, impulsiveness and wild bachelorhood, Reid is full of contradictions and he needs a strong woman to help him find and expose the real Reid under the mask. Allie, an unconventional English lady, has the strength and insight to eat away at his shell. But Reid, like most Scots, has lots of bitter history with the English, including his own English mother who abandoned her family, and tension with the English along the borderlands is heating up. As Allie starts to love Reid you will too! This book is fun, serious and very romantic. There are some very steamy scenes as well as the sexual tension between Reid and Allie explodes. Enjoy!

Readers, myself included, have been hungering for Reid Kerr's story. And, its telling did not disappoint!

I adored Allie for her inner fortitude, independent streak, patience and tenacity. She has to cut Reid quite a bit of slack on more than one occasion and does so with admirable aplomb. Seeing Reid get thrown for a loop as he comes to know Allie and develop feelings for her, something he swore he'd never do, is both satisfying and endearing. His arrogance needed to be knocked down a peg or two and, boy, does his cocky attitude get adjusted! And, once Reid learns how to "get out of his own way", the love he and Allie find is an all-consuming one for the ages. But, they face seemingly-insurmountable challenges in the fact that Allie's sister. Gillian, HATES Reid and is determined to keep them apart. And, even with Allie's affable and highly-respected brother-in-law, Aidan (Who I am completely besotted with, now!), championing their cause, they still have a monumental battle ahead, if they hope to ever win their happily ever after.

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

Scotland, 1273 The long truce between England and Scotland is threatened in this continuation of The Border Series. It is a constant struggle to keep the peace and there is a council meeting at Highgate End. Reid Kerr, the brother or Toren, who leads their clan, does not feel worthy of being his second. You see Reid has set himself up as a womanizer and rouge but is respected by everyone for his strong warrior skills. His life is about to change when he meets Allie Bowman, sister of the woman who disdains Reid more than he does himself.
Love at first sight or for Reid it seemed more lust, but Allie seems to see what he really is deep down and not just the wastrel most think. I have to say this is a wonderful tale of the beauty of redemption and how difficult it can be to get to that point.
Cecelia Mecca has again written an amazing story that will pull you in with her wonderful prose and vivid descriptions. I have truly loved every story in this series and hope there is one for Aidan soon. Although part of a series this can be read as a standalone, but trust me, you will want to read them all!

Reid Kerr is the youngest of the Kerr brothers and the most volatile. Toren, his brothers and Clan Chief has asked him to become his second. But Reid refuses. He’s asked attends a council of border chiefs at Highgate End in his brother’s place. Allie Bowman is content to live at Highgate End with her sister and husband after she escaped marring a much older man, she’s finally free to be herself away from her father. They meet each other at the border chiefs meeting and is instantly attracted to him, but not his attitude and Reid being the rogue he is definitely on the hunt. He begins to realize Allie sees him for his real self not the persona he lets everyone believe. Reid did a lot of growing up in this book and with the help of Allie, the one woman he wants above all others will he succeed? Will they give into the feeling and explore their new found love or be pulled apart by her sister and her family? It seems most everyone is warning Allie away from Reid, but the heart wants what it wants no matter how much your head says otherwise. A captivating story of two strong willed people each looking for acceptance and love from those closest to them. A great story of a rogue and the woman who encourages him to redeem himself to reach his full potential and find the respect and happiness he’s been seeking. This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

How do you fall in love with a notorious rogue? You let Cecelia Mecca, an exceptional writer of Scottish Medieval romance and a master storyteller write his story. “The Rogue’s Redemption” part of her Border series in my opinion is a phenomenal read. Her novel not only addresses the historical details of the border wars during that period time but she also weaves an emotional story of redemption and the power of a woman’s love. Reid Kerr is the rogue of his clan and has little self-worth. He is brash, a notorious womanizer and a fierce warrior. He feels he can never live up to the expectations of his brothers, Toran Chief of Clan Kerr and Alex his second. Lady Allie Bowman is English. She is tired of her family controlling her life. She is independent and strong and determined to chart her own course. These two totally opposite personalities meet and the attraction is undeniable. This story needs to be read to be fully appreciated so I will not go into specific storyline details. I have read all the novels in this series and Reid’s story is my new favorite. I highly recommend this series and I especially recommend “The Rogue’s Redemption.”

Oh that love at first sight…sigh! The Rogue’s Redemption by Cecelia Mecca is book 7 in the Border’s series. This medieval border story of Scotland and England, it’s continue fight for Scotland to be free and England to rule is amazing and so very romantic. This is one of those books that I stayed up half the night reading because I just couldn’t put it down. Between the romance and the Thirty Year Truce I just had to see how it ended. Now that I finished I am so sad to be done, it was that good! Cecelia’s talent for writing is unbelievable and so is her detail for history. You fall in love with her characters, Allie and Reid, that you get emotionally involved with them. This story has politics, runaways, sister and brotherly love, protection, hate, forgiveness, truth, training, determination, family lectures, disappointment, arrogance, pride, honor and of course love. If you have not read a Cecelia Mecca book you don’t know what you are missing. This is a must read and I highly recommend this book!

Reid is a cocky overconfident flirt and the definition of a true rogue. Reid was intrigued by Allie from the start but was confused by the growing attraction he has for her. Allie is a strong willed independent women and I love how she 'handles' Reid. He has his reasons for his behavior and why he acts the way he does. You have wonder if Allie will see the real Reid and be able to help him through his problems. There are so many obstacles thrown in their path I had to wonder if they would ever be together.

I have so been looking forward to Reid's story and this exceeded my expectations. I always enjoy reading about the history at that time and enjoyed the descriptions of the surroundings. This is another great story that once you start you just cannot stop. Everyone of the Border Series has been a joy to read and I look forward to next one. A story of a Bad Boy Meeting his Soulmate

5 stars, because an excellent story. A Bad Boy, Meeting his true match. Reid, the hero finds his true love, but a very bumpy road to be able to claim her. He has so much to prove to so many people, that he has changed. It would seem hopeless, but the ones, that believed in him. He even has doubts about himself. Allie, the heroine he meets and is definitely attracted to him. She is a strong, Kick Butt woman, who can take care of herself, learning to use a weapon. They have such a troubled relationship, needing to prove that they are meant to be together. It is full of very tender moments, with near end some steamy scenes, I. Good taste. It definitely keeps your interest all the way through. I definitely recommend this as I do all of her books. It is fun to read in order, as you get to know this Awesome cast of character that reoccur in series. I am waiting for next book in series to see what happens next.
