I’m an heiress with a broken past. It should have been the end for me, but now my mortal enemy has become my savior. He hides me away from the world as if he can save me.

Lucian Morelli is a billionaire who doesn’t know how to feel anything.
Except when he’s with me.

Love between a Morelli and a Constantine will never survive. The war between both families turns into an inferno, consuming the entire city of Bishop’s Landing. The world is soaked in blood. No one is left standing, not even the couple who vowed their final breaths.

I would sacrifice everything for the man I love, and I just may have to.

Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy

Heartless (Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy, #1) by Jade West - 2 stars
Soulless (Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy #2) by Jade West - 4 stars
Relentless by Jade West - 2 stars

Well... how do I start this... I didn't like this book. Jade West's books have been a hit or miss for me and this definitely was a 'miss'. I kind of had the idea that this book is not going to have anything special but I still hoped it was going to be better. I didn't like all the unnecessary drama. All I can say is nothing special happens, it felt like a huge epilogue. I was expecting more scenes with both the MCs family but there wasn't much. I don't even know what happened throughout the book and I can't even write because I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! Really disappointed.

I fucking loved this book- This was definitely one of those series that for me, got better with time.

The characters did fall in love within the second book, where this one was a continuation of that love, and them sorting out other conflicts- so basically it was a lot more toned down in the angsty aspect to their romance, with a lot of domestic scenes- however, I love those types of books, so I get why I liked this one so much.

🧎‍♀️🤸‍♀️ 'God, I fucking loved her.' 🤸‍♀️🧎‍♀️

-=- (I have too much time on my hands so this is gonna be a chunky one 💀🙏)-=-

I didn't write reviews for the first two, so here are my brief thoughts on them:

book 1: -=- 3 stars -=-

It was a nice introduction to the characters, and really gave a nice setting and basis for the series- however for me didn't have enough content/ interactions to hold on its own.

Book 2: -=- 3.5/ 4 stars -=-
Bordering 3.5 but 4 because the build up and ending was actually really nice. Was definately the climax of the romance, and I liked how there was no unnecseray conflict- although the switch form love to hate was very sudden.

-=-🤸‍♀️-=-

Book 3: -=- 5 stars -=-

Funnily enough, this book was the one that I was most afraid of starting- plainly because in the past I've read similar sort of dark/ suspenseful romances that have been part of a duet/ trilogy, and have just declined as the story went on (which was mainly due to many unnecessary conflicts, and the writing).

Although there was always this overhanging conflict of forbidden love, I loved all the conflict that happened in the book- everything that happened just felt so seamless to the story, and really added to the suspense. And can I just say that I can be a judgy bitch when it comes to conflict in romance, so I'm genuinely so happy with how this story played out.

In terms of writing, JW has for the most part, always worked for me- I love the smut-to-story ratio- and with this book, in particular, the writing really stood out. This book stressed me out so much, but in the best way possible. It was something that read so smoothly and quickly- I read the whole series in a day (I was that invested 💀🙏).

There were definitely some aspects to the story that got glossed over/ didn't really tie together, and some really repetitive moments (but I didn't mind bc I didn't really care abt those characters so-😌🤷‍♀️).

In relation to the main characters, they definitely grew on me. I remember with the first book, in particular, having a couple of problems with Lucian, but the way I genuinely love him now- I cant 😭🙏🤰🤰 I love them toxic 😌😫😫🧎‍♀️. One thing that I loved about him, within this book, was how open he was with his feelings. I'm so used to seeing similar types of heroes hate being emotional/ open about their love- so to see Lucian being openly proud about being in love was so sweet. His character arc was a nice one.

And with Elaine- I love her so much. She went through so much, and really did grow- which we love to see. She did have her moments where she was quite meek, and repetitive in the sense of her worry and fear- but I didn't mind too much, plainly because of how much she thrived with Lucian.

The development of their romance was so fun to see. It definetly climaxed within the second book, and as I mentioned earlier, was at a consistent point within this one. I can see why people didn't like the romance/ might've gotten bored with it- but I am an absolute sucker for domestic scenes, and love it when a couple is just so in love with each other, that nothing else matters. It was so fucking sweet it made me sick 😭🙏.

But yeah, this one had to be my favourite book in the series, and really stood out to me- I genuinely found myself enjoying it from start to finish, which is so rare for me. JW's writing usually works for me, but her books can be hit or miss, and this one definitely went well.

So yeah, this was a fun one. Before starting the book I wasn't sure where I stood with the series, but this book was such a nice conclusion that I can't help but love it- It was very much my type of book. The ending was super sweet, and I really enjoyed it.

Lucian and Elain were the it couple 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️.

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Book 3 of 3 from Starcrossed Lovers trilogy
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Lucian Morelli and Elaine Constantine knew well that betraying their families would not go without consequences. To give themselves a chance at a normal life, they took a drastic measure hoping to distance themselves from the inevitable fallout. But freedom might not come as easily as they hoped.

What I liked about this one is the story took to different locations and introduced readers to new characters. It helped make the story fresh. However, I wasn’t very satisfied with the ending because it felt too easy and anti-climatic after the earlier build-up. I was hoping for a more impactful ending.

“I’d rather die with you than survive alone.”

Relentless is a story of defying the odds. It is the conclusion to this dark trilogy of Romeo and Juliet retelling.

Relentless is the Conclusion of Lucian and Elaine’s story in The Starcross Lover Trilogy. Facets of this book reminded me why I fell in love with Jade West Writing. And what a great time I had on their journey.

Now standing tall and side by side running and to stay alive from their families Lucian and Elaine embark on a wild, dangerous ride with what will be the next step and the love they have for each other.

“I’d rather die with you than survive alone.”

I waited for them to take everyone down; the passion and chemistry between the two are hot and panty-melting. Let me tell you, there isn't a thing Lucan wouldn't do for Elaine and vice versa.

“You really are a sassy little bitch. You know that?” Lucian whispered. “It’s going to make punishing you for it so fucking pleasurable.”

This statement may not have been for everyone, but it was for me and sure as hell pack a punch with so much love and desire. Then it was a fantastic crossover with the Dirty Bad world. I was freaking so excited. You will read about some of our favorite characters who befriend our couple.

I really wanted to give this book five stars. But unfortunately, it didn’t make it there. The ending seemed rushed. After all the build-up and it seemed flat. I still have questions about the families. Overall, I did enjoy the series.

Choosing love over a longstanding family feud, Elaine Constantine and Lucian Morelli are on the run from their powerful families. What transpires focuses on their commitment to each other and how they adapt to new circumstances despite the outlying threat.

“Plenty of people will be coming for us,” he told me. “But I’ll be protecting you and dishing out revenge with every breath in me, I swear it on my life.”

From the outset in this trilogy, Lucian and Elaine certainly share an intense connection, which starts on a physical level but grows into more. While I liked how they decided to make their own path, I was puzzled at why some choices were made. Being the last book, I was expecting a showdown between the families, but was disappointed in a lackluster ending. The saving moment for me was a certain memorable erotic scene.

Relentless is a romance suspense based on a theme of forbidden love.

Last opus of the Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy, Relentless concludes Lucian and Elaine's story in a sexy whirlwind.

This modern Romeo and Juliet takes us in a revenge path where new friendships are born and family ties aren't worth much but certainly cost a lot.

“You ready to stand up as Elaine Constantine at my side? The two of us proud to be one?”

As Lucian and Elaine grow up in their love, I regret not caring for them and their new life. I enjoyed seeing them stand up for themselves but their arrogance and frivolity lacked of appeal and eventually my reading bubble burst. I had hopes that the storyline would pick up in intensity, unfortunately it disnt happen.

The huge highlight of this installment was a BDSM scene where I could recognized Mrs West's style. She worked her magic, pushed my limits and had me biting my lip.

Please note that I'm aware I am in the minority here, you shouldntotally give a try to this series, I would love to hear your thoughts! Happy reading!

“It’s not just your body I want to be inside. I want to be inside your mind, your hopes, your fears. Your quirks and your laughter. Your whole fucking soul.”

i liked this up until the ending. first off i didn’t see why this had to be a trilogy, they fell in love in book 1, in book 2 they fucked (that was the plot), book 3 was where everything happened. why was the ending still rushed, idk.

its just disappointing that we didn’t get the interaction between elaine and her family. the whole point of this was that everyone didn’t believe her. like i sitll don’t know if she’s ok with her fam (i fucking hope not bc they can rot in hell esp the mom).

the most important part of this book happened in the last chapter and it was like 5 pages long. it didn’t explain anything ugh.

i’m just disappointed because I LOVE lucian and elaine together, if it weren’t for the writing they would have made it my fav couple list. they are so perfect for each other and i just LOVE LOVE LOVE how they interacted because even tho they loved each other they were still enemies <3

"If I'm not here by dusk, you head into the city. You stay the fuck alive. Promise."

The conclusion of the Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy was not what I expected. To be honest, I had no idea how Jade West could spin this "Romeo and Juliet" dark retelling to end in a HEA.
This is not a standalone so you need to catch up on the first 2 books before getting to this one.
Relentless was a bit more suspenseful as Lucian and Elaine try to escape their families' wrath.
The writing is as good as always and the sex scenes are down right dirty.
The characters grow a bit more in this book. Lucian finally comes to terms with his love for Elaine. I like how devoted he is to her, determined to provide vengeance and support her. And Elaine comes out of her shell encouraged by Lucian's love.
Why this is not a 5star read for me? I guess I was expecting a lot more twists and angst. I spent a good portion of this book waiting for the other shoe to drop and it was a bit anticlimactic that it wasn't as dramatic as it could have been.
But overall, this is a very entertaining dark romance series. And if you like kink and BDSM, you should definitely give it a try.

My favorite little trilogy comes to an end. I really liked the main characters. Their chemistry was intense from the get-go. They were very lovey-dovey in this installment, but who can blame them? I wouldn't have minded if this had been a duet instead of a trilogy, but a format is a format. Now, it over & we have the rest of the family to watch out for!!! I can't wait to see how this universe expands

Book three in the Starcrossed Lovers trilogy

Maybe we really are star-crossed lovers after all. Our mind and hearts in prefect alignment

Lucian and Elaine have come to terms with accepting their love for each other

Love and lust are a heady combination, an ocean more welcome than thoughts of our doom

now they need to make a solid plan to stay alive. There is no way their families will ever allow such wrong, uncomfortable union. They’d rather have them both dead. Shame they didn’t take into account how relentless Lucian is in pursuing a finale to his own liking. We all know he’s not worried about getting blood on his hands to take out whoever stands in his way.

Although it’s nice to have some closure and to read the conclusion to this story, at times it felt a bit unnecessary. As I previously stated book two was quite redundant in various parts, I got the same feeling of “already seen/read” in book three. Most dialogues between Elaine and Lucian were a mere repetition.

I liked how Lucian took it upon himself to avenge his girl, the shed of blood is delicious, I liked that he was his usual murderous self. I appreciated how he took matters into his own hands and set out to make sure they were both safe.

If anyone else ever hurt her in any way again, I’d skin them alive

Elaine can finally bloom and start living the way she has always hoped for. She finds new strength in her relationship with Lucien and is proud to be his other half. I was glad she could get the happiness she deserved, it was nice to see how Lucian was true to his word after everyone in her life let her down. At times like these she could also see her real friends and were their loyalties laid.

I liked how Jade West tells this story with her trademark smut, she doesn’t lose her wicked mark, I’m glad I got my dose of naughtiness and depraved, both characters are pros. Their chemistry is undeniable, their sex encounters steamy and filthy.

Take it, he growled at me. Take it like the very good girl you’re learning to be

Overall this was a nice journey, despite a few bumps along the road I enjoyed this story. I’ll be looking forward to reading more of the Midnight Dynasty world.

OH! SNAP! SNAP!! SNAP!!! Lucian Morelli is a very bad man. Elaine Constantine is a very needy woman. Together they are so HOT, I was afraid my Kindle might combust! This is the third and final book giving us the EPIC conclusion to their love story. And truer love there never was with these two...their crazy romance continues steamrolling right along in Relentless. Their story is an action-packed, crazy-wild, hold-your-breath-thrilling, and over-the-top-in-your-face-take-that EXCITING read that you cannot miss! I'll admit, I didn't see that ending coming, but then again, I was probably still trying to get over some prior steamy encounter these two had and the next thing I knew, I was at the Epilogue! I found the whole series incredibly enjoyable to read. I LOVED it! The only thing bad about this book is that it had to end. I hope you'll enjoy it too!

I’m so disappointed in this book. I’d come to live Winston, Tinsley, Perry & Keaton! After reading this book on Elaine, I kind of don’t like any of them anymore. Like I said, so disappointed!
I also didn’t think Elaine & Lucian’s love for each other seemed real & solid. I felt like he’d cheat on her eventually.
I had even liked Elaine’s Mom a little (Caroline), but now I definitely hate her.

My heart was in my throat All The Time!! Jade takes us on a wild ride with lethal consequences at the end. riveting, hair-raising and electrifying story that culminates in a lionesque king claiming his place as the ruler of his kingdom with his regal queen by his side.
The series comes to an end with equal passion as there was venomous violence in earlier books. The intensity is the same, the pace even more rapid and the dangerous edge a bit more sharp in this book.
Jade has kept the thrill alive, passions burning and emotions potent enough to engage readers from book 1 to book 3.

"Elaine deserved to be a Constantine even more than I deserved to be a Morelli. She was too regal to carry any less of a crown."

Lucian Morelli is a man in love. He's besotted, enamored head over heels in love with Elaine Constantine. Deep enough to kill for her, ditch his family, his occupation for her. From hiding in to on the run, crossing Atlantic and names, they are just a moment ahead of death and it thrummed my heart with a sinking feeling, every time they were in peril.

description

“Believe me, baby, there are a whole load worse nails coming for our coffin than that. You’ve just met one of them.”

But leopard can't change his spots as a king can't lose his regality, so before long the modern day Romeo and Juliet need to take their place at the throne.

"He was truly a master. A master who needed to be ruling an empire."

description

It was a whoosh of a story, running at breakneck speed..downhill fast!! Lucian's character comes to complete circle on with his tender loving heart catching light as we saw only his ruel, ruthless side before. He's a complete man now. His woman-Elaine has grown out or her harmful phase. The immense love for Lucian has now displaced the dark depression in her heart and she's anchored now
Their relationship was a beautiful thing to see developing.

description

"Only now we were magnets coming together. Poles colliding as one. Elaine Constantine was my goddess right back."

And the sex...Omg the signature nasty, hair-pulling sex was molten lava hot.. NOBODY writes hotter sex than jade and she ALWAYS pushes my vanilla limits way into the kinky territory. I love it!!

“Take it,” he growled at me. “Take it like the very good girl you’re learning to be.”

description

I took it jade. Right in my heart 💛

the perfect example of the man being proud of being in love with his woman 💕

Lucian Morelli was such a good book hero. Yes, his cognitive inability to feel pain could be discovered better. Yes, his reasons to fall in love with Elaine Constantine could be relayed more clear and not so rushed.

But once he was in, he was ALL IN 🥵🥵🥵

I'm talking 'kill each and everyone who dared to harm her', 'defy my family and hers, who are at war with each other', 'spend every waking moment and every thought about ways to make her happy', 'shout about my love for her from the rooftops for the whole world to see', 'do the most romantic proposal EVER' kind of in 💘👑🥵

I rarely ever leave poor reviews, and it’s been quite a while since I had such low rated book. I really had high hopes for this trilogy because I just love this universe, but unfortunately this just didn’t do it for me.

What started off great in the first book, the plot development came crashing down in this last installment. The book felt more like an outline with extra words, rather than a coherent story. I really thought I was going to DNF it but since I have been really invested in this whole Midnight Dynasty, I decided to stick through it. Elaine remained the star of the trilogy and had the most interesting character.
My main two issues are: the plot and the writing style.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓
The plot itself was not cohesive. Lack of details. Some events just got abandoned. For example Lucian kills Elaine’s uncle who abused her and provided her to her abusers- but her family at no point in the book tries to do anything about it. In fact the Constantines are completely forgotten about in this book, besides a small appearance in the epilogue for their wedding. Elaine never confronts her mother Caroline, which I was really looking forward to. There was very little thought to any side characters or their role. Leo, Lucian’s brother simply does not exist in this book it seems. They never even have one conversation and I find that to be odd. After Lucian and Elaine make this big decision to run away from families and go to UK, go through all this trouble to get fake identities, their second day in UK Lucian has an epiphany and decides they should not hide. And their big way of dealing with enemy families that don’t want them together was to just start showing up in public. I found this as the story development very anticlimactic after all the build up. Then in the end, Lucian’s father calls him and asks him to come back which he immediately does. Really?!? After all this it’s all forgotten and forgiven?
Lucian was really into BDSM and owns a club, but with Elaine their sex is for the most part vanilla. Then all of a sudden he brings her to a BDSM club and they do a scene in front of people. It’s as if the author randomly remembered this detail about his character and just sprinkled some of it in the story.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐓𝐘𝐋𝐄
This writing style was simply not for me. The author is quite repetitive that had me thinking I lost my place on the page. And it happened a lot, sentence right next to another sentence. Now that I read the full trilogy, I think it could have been a duet if it was cleaned up more without the fillers and repetition.

Hero : Lucian Morelli

Heroine : Elaine Constantine

Pace of the story : Fast

Angst Rating : 6/10

Heat Rating : 7/10

Plot Summary :
Lucian and Elaine are finally together but things have turned out for the worst. They are a modern version of Romeo and Juliet and there is no limit their families won't cross to keep them apart. A Morelli and Constantine can never be together and they were the only exception to this rule.

Elaine never knew that she would find her best friend and Soulmate in the same man. And the man would be Lucian Morelli. He was feared all over the world and was supposed to destroy her. Instead they fell in love. And now both of their lives were at risk.

Lucian Morelli could have never imagined that he would fall for a Constantine. But he did. And she was everything he wanted and so much more. And now it was his turn to save them both. Otherwise their ending might be the same one as that of the original Romeo Juliet.

Overall Opinion :
I have been going crazy over this finale!! These authors created an amazing world of characters, and I am completely hooked. Lucian and Elaine have a tale full of so much hate that turned into a love that can inspire everyone. If only their families shared the same sentiment.

Hate is the only emotion they were allowed to have towards each other but they soon fell In love and now they were going to pay for it.

The ending was everything I wanted and so much more!! The characters are perfect and I want MORE. A must read for all the dark romance lovers out there!

Book three in this series is the conclusion to Lucian and Elaine's story.
Their journey is angsty, it is one of running and hiding and finding their place in the world.

But Lucian has no intention to hide, “Do we want to spend our life glancing over our shoulders worrying people are going to catch up with us and wipe us off the fucking planet every damn day?” and starts alliances, making a name for themselves in the UK.

They managed to get their lives in order and present themselves to the world on the red carpet We were Lucian Morelli and Elaine Constantine, and we truly belonged in this world.
And while they grab the world by it's proverbial balls, their connection and love for one another grows more stronger everyday.

While I'm now rating this 4⭐, I hope I can keep that rating. Because I think a lot has still not been resolved. I'm guessing, and hoping, that all will be cleared and resolved when all the books in the Midnight Dynasty world have released and the saga of the Morelli/Constantine families have come to a closure.

Part of the Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy and must to be read in order

Relentless, the final book in the Starcrossed Lovers trilogy, continues the forbidden romance between Elaine and Lucian as they consider their future together amidst the forces gunning to wipe them out from all sides.

Once again, the latest installment picks up right where the previous one left off. Elaine and Lucian's love is surer than either ever thought possible, but a relationship between them is nearly impossible. The question is: engage or escape?

Relentless is an extremely romantic continuation in Lucian and Elaine's story. I loved their certainty and determination in being together no matter what. This trilogy has been a really good dark Romeo and Juliet retelling. Lucian and Elaine have the same forbidden, passionate, all-consuming love that Romeo and Juliet's story had. I loved their relationship and the power-couple vibes they totally have! The epilogue was incredibly sweet, and I'm really happy with how everything turned out.

I recommend this trilogy for lovers of dark romance, fairytale and classic retellings, forbidden love, revenge stories, and the enemies to lovers trope.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for voluntarily providing an honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Safety gang:

- BDSM
- Murder
- No cheating
- No OW/OM drama
- No condom
- Child abuse
- HEA (married and she’s pregnant)

And the trilogy ends!

I feel like this book could of been more. There was a lot of talking but not a lot of showing. We were told about a bunch of things that were happening but I wanted results.

I wanted confrontation from her family and Lucian showing them the rape of the confessions for what they did to her. What was the point of video taping them spilling every secret if it was for nothing?

He did use the attempted murder tape against his dad and made sure they were safe and nobody could harm them.

Despite all those issues I believed their love. I truly believed he was absolutely in love with her and she was with him. He eliminated every man who touched her and he didn’t care about the consequences.

I didn’t really understand why they went to the BDSM club and had sex on stage? It was very out of the blue.

I did like that they didn’t run away from who they were - they decided to say fuck you to the world and not hide. Decided to take London as their new playground and build an empire of their own.

I do feel like the ending was rushed and I wanted more answers - overall the series probably gets a 3.5 ⭐️ rating.

We have made it to book three, the final book in the star crossed lovers trilogy. The series tells the interconnected story of Lucian and Elaine and must be read in order to follow their story. Book three picks up where Soulless finished. We finally got to find out the page gripping, suspense-filled, and action-packed conclusion to their story.

Throughout their journey of intrigue, we have been presented with the pair's strengths and flaws and watched them develop and grow as characters. They have had a solid world built around them and I look forward to continuing in the midnight dynasty world.

Jade West delivers a twisted and epic happily ever after in the final and explosive conclusion of Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy, Relentless. The thrill of dark and erotic romance is in every page. Every chapter will reel you in more and more till you lose yourself in this deviant and violent world of Morellis and Constantines.

Lucian Morelli and Elaine Constantine's love story is doomed. Because their families will never accept their relationship. So they are being hunted like animals. Lucian will need all his cunning and cruel plans to escape. Elaine will need all her strength and power of love to be there with him. And through this battle, their love will grow and bloom.

Relentless showed an incredibly complex growth in Lucian Morelli. He is still the monster everyone fears. He is still ruthless and extremely dangerous. He still wants to control and dominate Elaine and take her to that euphoric place between pleasure and pain. But he has also let Elaine in his dark heart. He will beat and conquer all her demons and pave her path with blood and death. Elaine's character has finally reached her full potential as she has come out of her shell and proudly taken her place beside Lucian. She is every bit of Constantine - beautiful, proud, elegant, smart and sassy. But she is also a Morelli queen now who has embraced Lucian with his flaws. This story was an adventure and undoubtedly the hottest of the series. The chemistry is astoundingly hot. Filthy. Dirty. Kinky. Deviant. The kind of story where you look around to check if anyone can see your reactions!

Relentless by Jade West is unashamedly sinful and gloriously sensual. I am hopelessly in love with the perfectly broken characters and their beautifully twisted emotions. An epic ending for an epic series.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

Not gonna lie, this journey was difficult for me. Not in the way of the writing but in the subject. I loved both Lucian and Elaine to the depths of my soul and they fit quite well with each other’s dark personalities, but their circumstances were brutal! I am very rarely triggered. I was triggered and quite literarily want to wash my ears with bleach … This story can’t be unheard or unread if that’s how you experienced it. It’s a little more ‘real life’ than I care for in my romance fiction, but it did not feel or come across as unrealistic in any way, so there’s that. The thing is this story has been ‘building’ for two installments in a way where I expected some sort of fireworks busting out of the story and what I got were some sparklers *sad face*

This is one of those instances where I really think this story should have been written as a duet rather than a trilogy. I know there’s a growing trend for stories to be split into three parts, but this story, as it was told, didn’t fit that mold. Of course, I’m not a professional writer, so what do I know? Amirite? I think my experience would have been more positive had it been a duet, but I’ll never know for sure. This last leg of the journey didn’t have the spark, tension and general sense of dread to what’s around the next corner that the first two installments had, and it was kind of a letdown. However, even with all of this little picks, Elaine and Lucian made for a very captivating and provocative read.

It helped tremendously, of course, that the very talented Desireé Ketchum and Tor Thom were the narrators bringing this story to life! They are both extremely talented and were a pleasure to listen to!

The conclusion to this Romeo and Juliet star crossed lovers trilogy is everything and then some.

Where to start?...

The dark, raw and brutal world of Lucian and Elaine really is something so tragic and Beautiful. So very dark and dangerous. These two people are supposed to hate eachother. They did hate eachother.. until they didn't. Their journey is a long battle of fighting with themselves, fighting their past and fighting their present for their future. It's cruel in its delivery and honestly at times the characters seem unredeemable. Too broken. And for the most part that's true if it was any other couple. But for them? They basked in the chaos and thrived on the pain.

Lucian isn't the anti hero .. he's the villain of his own story. A sadist by nature he enjoys dolling out pain in it's many forms of torture. But for her? For Elaine... He shows vulnerability. He's his real self not a painted picture of what he wants others to see. It's fascinating to see the breakdown of who he is and what lays beneath his sadistic surface. He won't be for everyone... In fact I know hell rub most people the wrong way. But there is growth and depth with every book and I loved him hard.

Elaine is the definition of broken. Immediately you're met with what seems to be a shell of a women fighting to die. I was impressed with her determination but her pain?... That took my breath away. Her life wasn't her own to live and the hell she survived left its mark in many ways. Her strength goes soul deep. She found unconventional and hurtful ways to deal but that doesn't take away from the strength in her character and the fight she still had even after everything. I loved her. I loved her for him and how she never failed to surprise me. She's a dark horse.

These two are crazy together. Dysfunctional does not even begin to describe it and yet somehow they work. When they stopped fighting that was..

It was fascinating to see the breakdown of their fight and the vulnerability they had with eachother. The fight they fought together for their future. There is so much depth here and so many things revealed I was in a constant state of shock. I enjoyed the fight and when they gave in to the inevitable. The chemistry is INTENSE. The connection is something out of this word. A bond forged through hate, rivalry, forbidden lust and love. It's crazy... They are crazy. But the ride? So worth it.

I feel like each book gives us just enough. Teases us with what's to come and has us on edge waiting, wanting. The plot progression is perfect. Everything little details, the action... The drama. It all fit perfectly into the darkest version of a great forbidden love affair there ever was. The characters despite their darkness drew me in like a fish to water. I wanted to know more... I was conflicted emotionally but curiousity won out ever time. It's both fascinating and horrifying. Both tragic and brilliant. By the end honestly I was drained but in the best ways. It's rollercoaster but that ending made it so worth it.

This is the final book in the Star-Crossed Lovers Trilogy and what a ride we take! Lucian and Elaine's story picks right back up from the ending of Soulless and oh my.....the edge of your seat suspense along with the scorching sexual chemistry will have you glued page after page of this intense consuming story!

I absolutely LOVED watching Lucian and Elaine's relationship grow and form into an unbreakable bond. The protectiveness, loyalty and love that Lucian had for Elaine was boundless. The change in Elaine to realize she was a gorgeous, sassy badass that was Lucian's equal in many ways was incredible.

These two had to endure so much from their families but in the end came out on top and stronger than ever! This is one story that will worm it's way into your heart, invade your mind and devour your soul! Be ready for this story to take over your thoughts, it is "RELENTLESS"!
